i have an 06 ...so your say twist the hole nob and it will spinn off ?
and does that mean i have to order a special nob to spin back on ?
Yeah its just a screw on so if you were to get another knob it would have to be a screw on yes

Mine is an 07 and it is a "pull off" design. Best way to find out is twist it in the counter clockwise position and if it starts to turn, then its a twist off.

It's kind of a pain in the butt. You've got to pry the silver bottom locking part downwards. Just be careful not to mar the finish. It takes a pretty decent amount of downward pressure. Pry between the bottom of the leather shifter and the silver lock part. The locking ring will eventually pop and slide down the shaft. You can then just lift off the knob.
