Opinions please..2.7L with low oil pressure

Hey everyone, I'll try to make this as short as possible. I've had an ongoing propblem with oil light coming on when I come to a stop and then turning back off when I excelerate. About six months ago I had the oil pressure switch changed and all seemed good until recently. The warning light started again. I brought it into another mechanic and this time he ran an oil pressure check and changed the switch again.

This mechanic indicated that a 2.7 L engine at idle oil pressure at minimum should be 5 psi and mine is about 4.5 psi. No big deal I thought. Although at 3,000 rpm it should be 45-105 psi where as mine is 25 psi. This mechanic mentioned that the engine sounded strange and there was a knocking noise. From reading on the forums I have heard that the 2.7L engine does in fact have a rough idle. Anyways, He stated he felt that it could be an internal engine problem that could be very expensive. My charger only has 55,000 miles on it and this worries me. I did ask if he checked the oil pump and oil screen which he said he did not.

I am seriously considering trading in my car before a serious problem occurs. I would like others opinions if the oil pump and oil screen could be likely culprits and a not to expensive fix. I really like my charger but do not want to be left with a great looking car with a blown engine. Thanks in advance everyone.
