Roof Panel Removal

I have a 2005 R/T with a sun roof. A while back I had the sunroof cracked in the drive way and it started to rain. Now the roof panel seems to be hanging a little bit in the back, it seems like it was just glued in place? I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove this panel?

The roof panel (aka "headliner") is held in place by the following:
1- Sun Visor pivot arms
2- Sun Visor support posts
3- Overhead console
4- A-Pillar covers
5- B-Pillar covers
6- Sunroof plastic trim piece
7- Rear dome lights/grab handles
8- C-Pillar covers

Basically once you remove these items -- and the pieces necessary to remove them, (i.e. seatbelt bolts, rear side panels, etc.) the headliner will start to drop onto the seats and dash. Finally, it is held in place above the rear seats with 2 squares of velcro.

In order to remove the seatbelts you will need a T-50 torx bit. There are 2-10mm bolts on the rear panels (1 each side). The sunvisors & rear lights require a T10 or T15 bit.

I hope this helps.

Dan is right on the money! I just removed and replaced mine about two weeks ago.

The 'pillars' wespeak of are teh posts between the front windshield and the door windows (A-pillar) the post next to the front passengers (B-pillar) and the rear 'sail panel', next to the rear seat passengers (C-pillar).

It only takes about 1-3 hours for the entire process.

I started with the pillars and other small parts first to get the 'finished look' & the technique under control before I tackled the headliner itself.
