Post Old School Charger Script Emblems

Edit: See Plum Crazy for Old School Charger Script Grille Emblem for install pics

Top: Chrysler OEM p/n P2841886, Charger script grille emblem with mounting pins for 1966–74 Charger, Size 8 Inch X 1.5 Inch

Bottom: Chrysler OEM p/n P3504807, Charger script fender emblem with adhesive for the 1971-74 Charger, Size 6.5 Inch X 1 Inch

You can pick up both badges at your dealer.

This is not some flimsy plastic part, they are metal. The pin one weighs almost 3oz and the sticky one is nearly 2oz. The pins are permanently part of the badge, but I supposed you could cut them off. But, since the back is not flat, it would be tricky to add adhesive. I'm planning on putting them on the grille and trunk, respectively.

For size comparision, here they are next to the original trunk badging.

How would you get the emblem with the pins to hold to the grille?

I'm still working on that. Originally I was going to use flat type speed nuts, but in order to get them with a small enough thread size to fit onto the pins, the wings aren't large enough to span the holes of the honeycomb grille. And looking at the SRT badge was no help, because that one has molded plastic clips instead of pins and nuts.

That's sharp, I like having the Dodge name on the car somewhere. I've seen that in YearOne's catalog as VC145, 1971 trunk lid with adhesive.

Q1: Is that one the you have?

Q2: How did you attach it to the grille through the honeycomb? (see my speed nut dilemma above)

Q3: What is the widths of the script part and then the overall? In looking at the adhesive one I have for the trunk, I think it may look too short.

I went buy a local auto parts store and purchased a pack of roll pins, a pack of speed nuts, and a pack of JB Weld.

1) Pick the appropriate size roll pin to slide over each post. The fit will be tight and you may have to gently tap the roll pin down onto the post with a hammer. Be careful as not to break the post.
2) Use a dab of JB Weld along the split in the roll pin to fully secure it to the post. Allow it to dry and set.
3) Slip the extended posts (roll pins) through your grill and use the speed nuts to hold the Charger Script in place by screwing onto the roll pins. You can use another dab of JB Weld on the back of the speed nuts to secure everything and make sure noone rips your Charger Script off your baby.

It's not that hard to do, just a little time consuming. I hope this helped... Post pics when you're done.

I'm not sure. I got it from someone on ebay.

Q2: How did you attach it to the grille through the honeycomb? (see my speed nut dilemma above)
I used a piece of cheesestrap to make a bracket that goes through the grill and bends over to hold it on. I then used Gorilla Glue to glue it to the bracket.

I'll have to measure it tomorrow. The script part is smaller than the one that is script alone.
