Brylcreem Exhaust Mod

Ok, since there is already a Tuna-Boat Exhaust Mod, I'm officially naming my exhaust mod, the "Brylcreem Exhaust Mod". Those who might remember best, will remember Brylcreem's slogan from years back: "A little dab will do ya".

Here's a commercial for those more interested in what Brylcreem originally was.

My mod: Remove the suitcase, replace gap with 2.5" pipe. Leave the stock resonators and X-Pipe. Simple mod, cheap, very effective, retains the original HEMI sound, increases volume greatly.

I kept the reso's and tips. I only removed the suitcase and filled the void with 2.25" pipe. There's some really nice effects of this setup. At idle, I basically maintained the overall quietness of the original stock setup. (Sleeper at the light? heh) Anytime you're accelerating the volume raises substantially, well over the stock setup. The interesting effect is that the sound of the exhaust actually mimics what some of the old Mopars had with the Vacuum Cutouts. When you're off the gas, or lightly cruising, the car gets very quiet, and the "drone" everyone gets with other setups is a mere hum. My butt-dyno doesn't show any major improvement, but I would suspect there is a little, minimal at best as with any other exhaust mod on these cars. Worth a couple HP I would assume, kinda like a CAI. These cars already flow pretty well.

Aside from those, no funky engine effects. When slowing down via the tranny geared down, you get a really nice rumble. The car at WOT roars like an older model muscle car...less "tuned" and just pure power. Definately not quite as loud as some of the older ones, as the reso's are still there. And lastly, the price....cost me $40 to get it cut off and pipes put up. Can't beat that!

I find myself constantly running low gears just to hear her rumble when I let off the gas. It's very audible, but FAR FAR FAR from annoying.

Edit: Just recorded the exhaust note for you all! I could have made another recording but didn't feel up to it...lol. Anyhow, here ya go, lemme know what ya think!

The sound of Brylcreem..

Brylcreem On The Move (This one does not include MDS or highway driving, thatr is to come.)

Click here to watch On-The-Move-Visual Another clip, this time a WMV (18Mb) Wish I could get the quality of the sound better...my camera sucks compared to what quality I **want**

I'm up in Rosemont on North OBT. (Near Lee Rd./441 Intersection)

I haven't got a response back from DeafCharger yet, he's near Universal, I suspect you'r enot too far from there. Trying to see if he wants to hook up this weekend like on Sat. or something. Would definately love to meet you both and make a couple new friends

There will definately be a soundclip. Hopefully this weekend if I can get my ass in gear..lol.

The suitcase is actually quite light for its size, but the weight difference between that and plain pipe going back up means I actually did lose the weight.

Suitcase weighs in @ 21.5lbs (yes I weighed it)

So I probably netted a 20lb decrease in overall weight after you figure about 1lb or so for new pipe going up.

I watched the Daytona 500, and I was thinking that if they left earlier they wouldn't have to go so fast.

I think I might get that done today. I recorded one already, but since I was powering the computer via my power inverter, there was a nasty buzz on the recording due to the fact power inverters usually use a modified sine wav to produce AC power. Household is pure sine wav.

I'm going to have to run a studio mic out of my bedroom window and do it this way.
