Red face Plum Crazy for Vredestein Ultrac SUV Sessanta 275/40/20 106Y Tires

Link to thread with vendor information and pricing from January 2009.

After reading all the threads about tires, and after getting 15K of wear from my SRT8 OEM Goodyear F1 Supercar tires (245/45/20 in front and 255/45/20 in rear), I decided to replace them with Vredestein Ultrac SUV Sessanta 275/40/20 106Y on all four corners. (manufacturer link)

After a few positive reviews from the other thread, I ordered them from tires-easy.com and they were showing 12 in stock. These tires are manufacturered in Europe and at times supply can be very low and delays in getting them can be very long. I figured, who buys tires in February?

Ordered them on Friday 02/20/2009 using the website. I didn't have any issues with delays in getting credit card authorization as others had. I even expected it because I was having them shipped to a different address than my bill to address. Heck, this causes amazon.com problems at times.

I hadn't received any emails from the company, so I used the "Call-Back-Service" to submit in inquiry at their website. I just put in my order number and info, and even let them know it was ok to just email the ETA ship date instead of actually calling me.

Not 20 minutes later I had an email back from them that not only had the tires already shipped, but they are scheduled to arrive tomorrow, Friday 02/27/2009. And the email had the UPS shipping tracking numbers. Two packages, 95.40 Lbs each. So for those of you wondering, each tires weighs 47.7 pounds or less, depending on packaging. I'll be sure to weigh them naked once they arrive.

The tires were shipped from Ontario, California (not Canada as I had in earlier) to Hodgkins, Illinios (which is near Chicago) and then to Wyoming, Michigan (near Grand Rapids) on their way to a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.

So far, an excellent customer service experience. I'll be updating once they arrive and again once they are installed.

Arrived today on Friday, 2/27/2009 as scheduled. And FYI, only two tires fit into the bed of a covered Dakota pickup. One in the backseat (next to the car seat) and the other in the front seat.

The tires were shipped just like this, wrapped together in pairs with plastic shipping tape.

All the way from over da sea.

Yeah they say SUV, but if you can read it, I need to drive faster. (Shoes not included)

The answer to the age old question "How many Vreds can you put in a Charger?" The answer is one more than the number of licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll Center of a Tootsie Pop.

Blanket not included.

Are those tires in the back seat, or are you just happy to see me?

Sadly, they don't make your rims any cleaner

They do, however, make your ride look bad a$$. Outta my way, ricer!

Today's tires have been brought to you by the letter "V"

So how do you like them so far. I am hoping that you will be at the March 15 M&G in Lansing as I just bought some SRT wheels and I was thinking about getting these same tires. Any issues of rubbing? I know your SRT sits just a bit lower than my daytona.

If you are not going to Lansing, maybe we can meet somewhere on the eastside. I live in Fraser.

thanks..Mike

See, what I do is one in the trunk, and one each in the seats, without folding down the seatbacks. I wrap them, of course, and lean them over so they are wedged in. Less chance of then shifting and leaving skid marks on the inside

Not opposed to skid marks, but only in the right place

Yep, planning on being there. No rubbing so far, though I haven't put them totally through their paces.
