Hey everyone,
Been a while but mostly i've been dealing with the insurance and medical stuff from a being rear-ended on 12/07/15.
It was an older lady who was 78 in an SUV a RAV-4, rear ended me which took out my bumper, right exhaust, part of the rear quarter panel, and dinged the front door. Total damage after everything was about $4000.
While the Injury claim is separate, I was wondering if anyone else could chime in on the diminished value claim that would be fair? I'm not looking to get rich here, but if my car was reduced in value by $3000 or $5000 i'd like to get that.
I was offered $1500 from the Adjuster, but according to even the formula that insurance companies are supposed to use, which is heavily stacked in their favor, 17c. I should be closer to $2500 using NADA retail. ($50,450x.10x.50*1.0=$2522.5)
Does anyone else have any experience haggling with adjusters or what I should do. Should I hire an attorney, or go to have my car appraised?
