This is on a 2011 Dodge Charger 3.6L V6, I know that the LED's are kind of rare to be going out and it is pretty much impossible for this many to go out all at once or in a row like this. I have checked all fuses and none of them are blown. I'm really not too excelled with wiring and electrical issues. Does anyone know the cause and solution to this issue? Don't necessarily want to fork out $500 for a new decklid..
My 2011 Leds went out in the same exact spot. The whole rear deck assembly has to be replaced. I just replaced mine after finding one on ebay for $200 dollars. I'm not sure why they went out in the first place. Pretty easy to replace though as the rear deck assembly pulls out easily after removing the bolts behind it.
Just curious how many miles do you have on your Charger. I was under the impression LEDs have a long long burn life like 50k hours compared to conventional bulbs of 1k.
Today, I have noticed the lights start to flicker. I truly believe that there is a loose wiring issue but I'm seriously not an electrical savvy type of individual... Does anyone have any idea?
Yeah, mine did the exact same thing before eventually going completely out. The strange thing is, when it rained they would work like normal in addition to flickering sometimes, so like you I figured it was a wiring issue, and I tried to troubleshoot best I could and take it to the dealership to get checked, and they kept telling me it was the entire taillight assembly. I wish I had an answer for you on why and how they did that, but I've had mine replaced now for a few weeks and I haven't had any issues. Despite that I'm still checking around to see if something else could be the cause.
I heard its from slaming the trunk over a period of time. I have an 8 inch section on the bottom left that went out all of a sudden and i only have 42000 miles on a '12.
