Before I break it does the center bezel around the radio/nav and temp control snap in/out or is it screwed in from behind.

snaps out... push the a/c vents in at the bottom and that will give you enuff grip to start the bezel from the top and slowly pull all the way down... some of the temp controls are still attached to wires, so pull slowly and unhook plugs as needed

When I was removing mine to install a new radio I heard a snap and almost had a miscarriage.
luckily nothing broke

yeah i had the same experience... one of the prongs was stuck and made a loud snapping noise but nothing was broken...

i open the ashtray and pull from the bottom of the bezel and work my way up, very simple.
