Ok today i was driving and thought i would play around and turn off the ESP by pushing the button. i pushed the button and it did nothing no car with squiggly lines light or anything . So i tried to load up drop some lines on the pavement but the ESP wouldn't let me . Is there a fuse or something that's out ?
Anybody have this issue ?
Did you press and hold until you heard the chime? If not, you may have only turned it partially off. There are 3 levels and unless you hear the chime, it's only partially off (no light on the dash) and it'snot going to let you paint lines.
my 06 Daytona didn't chime is this a SRT thing ? wait till you see my new striping i'm getting:grin2: put of the car this week end . Hoping it will be much different
than most chargers .

You have to have the car in park to turn it fully off. Hold the button down for about 5-8 seconds and you will hear a chime. You should be able to turn ESP partially off at any point by momentarily pressing the button, getting the "Squiggly Line" icon. It this isn't happening, something may be amiss. Also on your 07, another trick is while you are sitting still or at low speed, to turn the key while the car is running, as if you are trying to start it. The starter won't engage. The radio will cut out and you will see warning lights momentarily. This will disable the ESP totally as well as the anti-lock braking system. Warning, they will stay disabled until you shut the car off and restart it. But this is handy if you are at a light and have the sudden need to unleash the beast without having to put the car in park to kill the ESP.
Hum, odd. never knew the key trick to not work. If the car is in park and you hold the button for at least 10 seconds with not chime or alert, you have an issue somewhere. Not sure what the problem might be.
Best way for me (2007 SRT) is turn and hold the key to start position when rolling more than 10mph. Works every time and totally disables the ESP/anti lock. I've only done a couple burnouts this way... LOL.
