I had essentially given up on my 2011 Dodge Charger R/T. Prolonged driving with MDS active would cause clouds of blue smoke to be released when it would switch back to all 8. Oil was clearly accumulating in the combustion chambers.
2 Dodge dealerships essentially told me to go fly a kite. Per Chrysler, the consumption was 1 quart / 1200 miles, and the limit was 1 quart / 1000 miles. This was "normal" oil usage, and they weren't going to do anything.
I was ready to unload this car, but tried the following:
-Put 6oz of Restore Upper Cylinder Lubricant in the fuel tank
-Turned off MDS via the Diablo Trinity (I wanted to get the fuel additive on all the cylinders at all times)
-Switched from synthetic oil 5W20 (Kendall Liquid Titanium) to BND Quantum Blue 7.5W23
-Every tank add 3oz of ACES IV
After 1000 miles I am only down 1/4 of a quart, and the car is running better now than it ever has. I'm not sure if I even want to turn MDS back on; I kind of like it better this way . .
1 month ago I was ready to roll this car off a cliff.
