Yeah, I had a feeling it was coming soon! I have been checking for it the last week!

CTP11 & CTP12 (2011 - 2012)
2018.10 files for the ASR folder

The files for the Garmin folder (file names don't change) and JCV folder (there is only one ".jcv" filetype) are self explanatory from update to update. The ASR folder is the only one that takes some guess work ... because we only use three of the four ".asr" files that are on the mobile device (there is only one ".srx" filetype).

So my guess, based on past updates, is that the ".asr" files for 2018.10 are:
05JFQZ2A.asr
05JFQZ2B.asr
05JFQZ29.asr
.

Yeah, I have not had a chance to update the file names in the other post, but will get it done this weekend!

I nailed it!
I have figured out the naming convention for the three ".asr" files but I still have not figured out why we don't include the 4th ".asr" file (for 2018.10 it's the "05JFQZ2C.asr" file). Not a big deal but I'm just curious why the 4th ".asr" file is not used.

Good Question!

When I was given this info from a knowledgeable source, he just listed these files.

Not sure what exactly all of the ASR files do, but i would "assume" you could use the 4th file!

The thing to do, would be to get an official update from Dodge and see what exact files they use!

I looked at the Dodge map update for City Navigator North America NT 2015. It had only three ASR files:

04BAFQPT.asr
04BAFQPU.asr
04BAFQPV.asr

Comparing file size between NT 2015 and 2018.10, and using alphanumeric sequential ordering, it appears that only the first three ASR files are used.

04BAFQPT.asr <- large
04BAFQPU.asr <- small
04BAFQPV.asr <; medium

05JFQZ29.asr <- large
05JFQZ2A.asr <- small
05JFQZ2B.asr <- medium
05JFQZ2C.asr <- (large, but not used ... only the first three files in a build are used)

How long until FCA gets these updates pushed out? The Uconnect site still says "no update available."

Ticks me off knowing our Charger, being built right as I type this, will ship with an out-of-date nav. Maybe I can convince FCA for a freebie update? ;)

Also... based off what I understand... can you take Garmin map update files and re-package them in a way our Uconnect systems can update off of, without having to wait for FCA to catch up and eventually release them?

Correct, but so far it has only been working on the 2011 - 2014 Charger/300/Journey

Thanks! But from what the guy above me posted.. it sounds like people haven't found a way to do this for 2015+ systems, is that right?

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to clarify, HERE navigation has supplied the maps for our connected radios in our MY14-MY17 systems. The MY17 navigation may look different because of our new Panasonic radios but it is still the same map provider. You can check for navigation updates by visiting this link: http://chryslergroup.navigation.com...oemreferral&utm_source=Uconnect-Support-Dodge. Let me know if you have any additional questions!

A few years ago I purchased a just-released "new" map update disc for my 2012 Dodge vehicle for $150.00. Imagine my shock and surprise to find out that the file dates on the disc were more than 2 years old (!!). Needless to say, it was the last map update I purchased.

I do not understand how a company can pour countless millions of dollars into R&D for their UConnect systems, of which many consider to be the best on the market, yet fail miserably when it comes to providing something so simple as current map updates.

Andrea,

So according to your website, my car "Our records indicate you have the most recent map update for your vehicle. Please check back soon for a map update product." I find this impossible to believe. I am flying in the air (no roads) and taking on and off ramps that haven't existed for over 5 years. No map updates in 2 years...(well, I've had the car for one year). Maybe no updates from Dodge, but the maps are sorely out of date.

I got the same message when I checked the website for my 2016.

Also I had to do a factory reset and the colors are all different. Grey instead of tan on the non road areas. Wonder what the issue is there...because these colors are hideous and harder to read at a quick glance while driving.

I'll post my map info here in a sec after I take a pic.

Granted mine's the older uconnect, but at one point it actually popped up on the screen while I was driving and said I should consider updating the maps.

Now I have no idea if that was shortly after a chrysler update was available or what. It just said that the maps were out of date and I should update.
