I have a 2013 Dodge Charger SXT and I just noticed that the hood is not made of steel, tried a magnet and it did not stick. On the fender the magnet would stick easily. The hood must be either aluminum or plastic, does anyone know?
I think that's still stamped steel. It's funny, the SRT hood on my truck is stamped steel, I'm surprised they didn't make it out of aluminum, though may not have been strong enough for a hood that big.
Yep, it's to save weight. It's also specifically used on the hood to make the front end lighter and improve weight balance. These cars are front heavy and a lighter hood helps.
I wanna know what they make the roof out of. Even just washing my car & applying light pressure, I can push it in and make it "pop" back out...I try not to but jeez...
