Hey guys i'm new here to formus, so i wanted to post my problem here that may have been people exprienced the same problem as mine.
My car is a 2010 dodge charger R/T
I have a American racing headers, CAI, 180 stat, and an axle back with CMR tune from johan.
My car has almost 106k miles
Problem is my car surges with the rpm, lost in performance, and i can notice that rpm problem when im on a highway driving between 50-60 mph when i let off the gas pedal i can notice a lil drop in rpm its like the car won't coast normally like someone is dragging me back, not smooth.
And when im at redlight stop when its on D and im just hitting brake waiting for the greenlight car also stalls the rpm goes down.
Now i've red before about this problem and people seems to fix their cars by replacing their EGR, But im assuming 09 and newer 5.7 hemi's does not have EGR so what could be the problem? Or is there is something similer to egr in our cars that does the same thing.
P.s i have just replaced my timing chain belt and got new sparks plug installed, cleaned out my throttle body, etc.
Have you taken it to an auto parts store to have it checked for trouble codes?
If you've been tuned by Johan, maybe you could take a performance log like you did for the tune, and send it to him. He might spot something in the logs.
There are no codes what so ever until now, i did send him data logs, he told me fuel/air and everything else is fine except you have knock that causing detonation, But i can't seems to find what is the cause of this knock.
What octane rating and gasoline are you using? Best to use gas from a Top Tier retailer. They're more reliable on providing the rated octane and detergent gasoline.
We also have 98 octane gas in my area
but i did not use it, But would octane really make this problem im having ?
Im suspecting the tps faulty because i've red before the symptoms and im having the similar symptoms, it feels so annoying when i drive it i just dont want to let off the gas pedal so i dont get this rpm drop/surge really annoying.
It could be the throttle body (TPS, IAC, etc ... are all packaged in the throttle body). The PCM sends the signals to the throttle body so it could be the PCM or any of the sensors that send signals to the PCM. Check all the wiring/connectors to the PCM, throttle body, engine sensors, etc ... to make sure they have good connections, not corroded, etc ...
Apparently there are no DTCs being logged since the check light is not On and the data logs didn't show anything other than excessive KR.
Check for vacuum leaks. There's the hose from the intake manifold to the PCV and the crankcase vent hose from the engine to the air intake tube. Use a spray bottle with water to spray around the intake manifold gasket (while engine is idling) to see if the RPMs change.
If nothing definitive shows up you may need the dealership to connect the car to their diagnostic system in order to isolate the problem.

Sounds like it could be the camshaft position solenoid. If you tap on the gas in park do the rpms rise up high and hold for a few secs before dropping down?
No update yet, i replaced ect sensor, camshaft sensor, map sensor, changed plugs, cleaned TB.
But haven't changed the crankshaft sensor i don't know if its could be the problem, but i've noticed something with the drivin style, wheni hook up the diablo predator theres an option that says rest TCM adaptions on the transmission , i click it to rest it and then i can really notice a difference with the driving theres no that drop on the rpm when i let off the gas, but again the problem occures again seems like the pcm or something re-learn it, but i don't know i'll replace later on the knock sensors, crankshaft sensor, and also i'll check the drive shaft im suspecting this also.

Set Condition:
The PCM recognizes a brake application following the APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor) showing a fixed pedal opening. Temporary or permanent. Internally the PCM will reduce throttle opening below the drivers' demand. ETC light will illuminate, the light will only stay illuminated while DTC is active.
Could be the APPS but there is also a brake switch/sensor located under the instrument panel at the brake pedal arm. Either of these can set this DTC. This DTC can also be set if you simultaneously hold down the brake pedal and the accelerator (e.g. brake torqueing the engine).
When this DTC is set, the pedal position in the PCM software will ramp to idle. If the Pedal voltage changes OR the brake pedal is released, the pedal position in the PCM software will ramp up to the pedal position and the ETC light will go out.
