going to be very hard to wait until they hit the dealer lots. Been looking into the new UConnect thats in the pacifica right now. Dont look vastly different to me but there is a very distinguished, updated look to it. Get a 17 in a new, unique color, or go with a 16 and get a killer deal? Decisions decisions....

Thanks for the info! Wont be long until they update the website and the new colors start hitting the net...

No regrets on buying a '16 B5 SP except for the new Uconnect. I've seen/used the new prototype units and they are really nice. Really hope that the head unit is backwards compatible.

You can wait until 2017 if you like, but this one is still available. I saw it at the dealer just Saturday. I know you have the Canadian buying in the US legal issues, but if you can work a way, it's there waiting for you.

They also have a white Hellcat Charger on the showroom floor, parked next to a white Hellcat Challenger. I tried to get them to give me one of them for a loaner, I'd have called in to work sick and put a few tanks through it if they had... :grin2:

Android Auto sure would be nice on my '15. As much as I'd like to backport that radio into my car and I hope it's compatible, probably not worth it anyway.

A new '17 looks like a great deal, but my '15 is still keeping me happy! :D

Thank you for the info. Do you know if Ivory Tri-Coat will be offered sometime down the road in 2017 since it is not an "initial" color? I was really looking forward to ordering a 2017 in IYT, and 2016 inventory is very limited in SCAT's unfortunately. Thanks again.

Seeing how the 2016 uconnect has faster processing than the 2015, I'm hoping all that's needed is an update to get CarPlay to work. Fingers crossed, I played with the factory CarPlay unit in a 2016 Chevy Tahoe and it was pretty slick, especially having Apple Maps mirrored from my phone.

I am ordering my Daytona bright and early Mon, 09/12. Going to get the 5.7 in Destroyer Gray. Probably won't see it here in Hawaii until early Dec....But I can wait. I got rear ended on duty in my '13 RT. A texting teen caved in the rear end @ 30 - 35 mph while I was at a complete stop. I was going to get another Charger....but this isn't exactly the way I had imagined it!

PS: I think the Daytona is also getting the Bilstein treatment like the T/A....anyone know for sure?

Andy

#29 ·
I do believe it is offered in DG...the articles seem to indicate so. It may not be available initially, but should eventually if not. I will settle for black on Mon if not yet available.

#33 ·
Looks like I have to convince the wife that I need to add a new Charger Daytona to the garage instead of the Challenger T/A. I like the Destroyer Grey better than the Yellow and for the price and performance/interior additions it is a steal IMO.

not sure if this was already posted, but found this video showing more detail on the 2017 Charger Daytona:

http://fcauthority.com/2016/09/feature-spotlight-the-2017-dodge-charger-daytonas-revised-interior/

just wondering if anyone is trying to choose between the 2017 Scat Pack or Daytona, what their likes / dislikes are, because i'm literally torn at this point!
I like the 392 Daytona because for only $5K more than the scat, you get the Hellcat brakes, leather interior, exclusive “Carbonite” interior IP and console finish, Mopar CAI and the new 9.5" forged wheels.

I was actually torn between the Challenger scat and the 392 SRT. Now that the Daytona has arrived, I can not justify paying $6000 more than the Daytona for the SRT. For that extra money you are only getting the 3-mode Bilstein adaptive dampening suspension, Drive modes, different badging and steering wheel, Laguna Leather and Navigation comes standard.

GM charges less than $2000 for their magnetic ride control which IMO is far superior to the 3 mode Bilstein.

As always comes down to price and package. Scat Pack with the Leather Alcantara option runs $3500 less then the Daytona 392. It includes leather seats, heated and cooled front seat, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, auto dimming rear view and drivers side view mirror, seat memory and park sense.

So if the bigger brakes, bigger rims/tires, vinyl stripes and a few other goodies like HIDs and I think power column steering wheel are important items for you then a Daytona it is.

Both have attractive pricing.
