  • We recommend calling the hotels directly versus using the 1-800 number or booking online because the actual hotel knows the group better than the national number or online system.
  • Anybody that does not need a double room, please leave for the folks that do. They are all the same price and you actually have more room in the King vs. the Double Bed rooms. Also, many of the King rooms have a sofa with a pull-out bed in it.
  • There are many room variations at BOTH locations, ask them what is available for each night of stay for the number of people you are bringing.
Bring DAD and the rest of the family for the weekend and have some fun!!! Plenty for the entire family to enjoy.

The Caravans
The LX is a head-turner all by itself, imagine the scene you'll be making as you and your fellow LX owners roll down the highway and into Columbus 10... 20... 30 cars deep!!! Its much more fun to ride out to an event with a group of folks rather than make the trip alone. If you are organizing a caravan to the LX & Beyond Nationals, please let us know so we can add your caravan to the list.

wow this is so last min! J/K! I'll be there, it was fun last year. any new ideas or updates to announce yet?
adam
LOL...you know how I like to plan at the last minute. :)

We have a few ideas, but wanted some input from last year's attendees too.

I have decided to get a room for Friday night. Not sure if their is any interest in still caravaning down from MI, if interested please post in the links below so that your input is heard. Otherwise I will see everyone down there.

The polls have become moot. I guess I put them up too soon and circumstances have changed.

For the MI folks interested here is a link with some preliminary talk about it: http://www.clublxom.com/viewtopic.php?t=203

Here is a poll for a MI caravan. If you are from MI and want to join a caravan click the link:http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64746

With as well as you pulled it off last year I think that anything you decide is great. I just hope to get to meet you this time.
Thanks man, I appreciate that! I still don't know how I missed you. We definitely got to have a cold beverage of your choice together. :)

Brainstorming suggestions for 2008 M&G:

1) Make sure Jeremy leads the Cincy caravan again. :)
2) Add some sort of swap meet.
3) Press release for local news, car TV shows and national car mags.
4) Upgrade the MC for welcome speech and prize giveaway.
5) Have warm weather so models can disrobe.

Mr Morgan <-- professional announcer, will work for free ;)
I don't think " Guys lets welcome to the stage the beautiful Candy" qualifies for "Professional Announcer status!

J/K, I will definitely be making plans to attend again and just wonder if the June date coincides with the Power Tour and what effect that might have if any on the Ohio Area cars, or others for that fact....

#10 ·
Date seems fine,maybe LXs only??
Can we move it to a Sunday? I know people whod want to go and same with me, but gotta work Saturdays...plus thats a far @$$ drive, but id most def do it if stereos are allowed :)
I figured most folks would like to have a day to unwind after driving down/back and hanging out all day? Also, having it on Sunday may conflict with people that have religious commitments?

There was a fairly large caravan that came from your area last year, so you will have plenty of company during the drive down.

I also vote for LX's only, and despite working Saturdays, I'll be taking that day off!
I gotta work at e-check Saturdays, so I will probly have to miss that one next year :(

I will try to get the day off though! And I dont vote for all LXs. I say all Mopars, excluding none. I have some people with 3 Darts with 440s, so they would def join if it was "legal".
Since this is primarily an LX event it would either be LX's only, or LX's and invite the SRT family of vehicles. Inviting every Mopar is logistically not reasonable. However, it would be nice to have some old school Mopar that coincided with the current LX's (i.e. Charger, Challenger, 300)

better weather!
Noted. :) Hence the reason we pushed it from early May to early June.

*fyi - for all the folks that are sticklers for detail. (*cough* *cough* *Roger*) Summer does not officially begin until Jun 21, so its still a spring M&G.

Brainstorming suggestions for 2008 M&G:

2) Add some sort of swap meet. Good Idea
3) Press release for local news, car TV shows and national car mags.In Progress

Keep the ideas coming guys. Its just as much your event as it is mine.

You mean I only have 9 months to get my ride ready? :knockout:

As we get closer, I will start up a thread for the Cincinnati caravan similar to last year.

Very nice ride. Absolutely bring it!!!

I was thinking 7/6 and not 6/7...got too excited and did the ol' switcheroo...

I just lost two months...where does the time go?
Haha, you better get on it, time is already flying by...

#19 ·
Anthony, we are going to come to the event next year. This works perfect for us as we can still go to E-Town and then come to Ohio in June.
Very cool, look forward to finally getting to meet the BT crew in person. I'm a big fan of your products. (But of course you already know that. :) )

#22 ·
Absolutely we would. As a matter of fact we will sponsor the event. Should e a blast. I'll talk to any about coordinating things and working with whoever else wants to get involved in helping set things up.

Thanks Jeremy, I will be in touch.

C'mon now, there has got to be more than 3 people interested in a drag event......:)

#35 ·
Mine's the SXT/AWD.... pretty much just "punch and go", I believe! :D Darned hard to break loose all 4 with only 250 horsies!

I'm hoping to do some autocross next year, too, so I'll check their requirements and go ahead and get a helmet. :headbang: (no helmet smiley around...)

UPDATE:

I have asked Chuck, known on the forums be many of you as "CHERRY" to help with the planning and execution of the 2008 Spring M&G event here in Columbus, OH. As some of you may or may not know, he was instrumental in the creation of the NMCA, and in recent years has organized many car and track events in the North Ohio area. We will be partnering on this event, so stay tuned for more updates.

*It has come to our attention that the PINKS ALL OUT event is scheduled Jun 7, which is the tentative date for our event. Stay tuned to the thread for an update on when the re-schedule date will be for the '08 Spring M&G.

Nice weather and more disrobed models should be the main attraction. The cars are just transportation to get to see the models. I volunteer my car to transport the models to the site. lol

#39 ·
TurboBuckeye "Anthony", myself and 18 others are going to have a meeting on Saturday 1-12-08 @ 1:00 PM at the Quaker Steak & Lube. We are moving forward with our plans on bringing to life a BIG Meet & Greet along with a Car Show, a Drag Race, a Manufacture Midway, plus some other *fun* things to do.

We have already picked out a name for the Event and our Company's name as well. I have some ideas for the Drag Race Portion of the Event, as it stands now, there will be 4 Classes of Eliminations. One will be a QUICK 16 on a qualified ladder, and I know there will be 3 Classes of Bracket Racing one being a V6 only Class. I am still working on the other two as to how I will break them down.

More to come soon.

Regards
Chuck Green

Can't Wait!!!!

#42 ·
Look forward to meeting you!

Let them know about it and continue checking post#1 of this thread for the latest news and updates.

I am certain there will be a caravan of folks heading up from louisville and lexington area. MrMorgan will be making his way up here from Lexington. They all hooked up with the Cincinnati group and came up I-71 together. You will have to ask them what that was like, but I heard it was a blast.

Here is video of the Cincinnati,OH and Lexington, KY caravan from '07 M&G:

Wow, this thread has been around since October and I didn't know about it until today! :)

My suggestion for 2008 has to do with parking (since I was the guy directing traffic in 2007): I say we just post up a parking map online well in advance, and then use the honor system to ensure that everyone parks in the right area. That would eliminate a task from the day. We might not get all the vehicle types grouped perfectly, but we didn't have it perfect last year either, even with me standing there with a map and pointing to the right place. :) A lot of people seemed to enjoy having the various cars grouped together, so I don't think we should do away with the system completely, but I don't think it's critical enough that we need to have someone dedicated to getting people parked correctly. Thoughts?

Cherry did a great job organizing a dyno day up in Akron a year or so back, so I'm sure he'll bring a lot to this event!
