Hello every one. After several years of being a GM guy which included owning two Pontiac Grand Prix an '04 and an '08 (both outstanding cars) I decided to trade my Grand Prix for a Charger.
He everyone thanks for the welcomes. Here is a little info about my car;
So I have been planning for a couple years now to give myself a nice birthday present for my 40th this last Friday. Originally I had my heart set on a 2010-2012 camaro (in any trim). I've followed the car from the concept's introduction in 2006 straight through to production. I had the opportunity to test drive an '11 LS back in the summer of 2010 and just loved it but declined the purchas because I still owed too much on my GP that the negative carry over after the trade would have brought the price up ridiculously high. In other words I'd be paying an SS price for an LS trim. So time carried on and as my birthday neared and knowing that I've trimmed down the money owing on the GP I made my decision to treat myself. But I did not go with the camaro because as much as I love the car it just is not as practical as I need it to be. Unfortunately I am not one of these guys who can afford two cars, one to be the daily driver and the other to be the weekend hot rod. I need everything rolled into one package and as much as I fantasize about GM (or somebody) bringing back Pontiac and a new 2012-2015 Grand Prix I highly doubt this will ever happen. So there as been an other car that has equally caught my interest over the last year as much as the camaro has, that being the redesigned 2011-2012 Dodge Charger. This is the choice I went with and last Thursday April 12th I signed the papers and made the trade. I absolutely love the car. The best way I can describe the feeling I have for it is the same feeling you had when you were a kid and you couldn't wait to get home from school so you could ride your new bike.
So originally the bank approved me to buy a brand new silver 2011 SXT plus, fully loaded. But with the money still owing on the Grand Prix after the trade the monthly payment was more than I wanted to pay so I declined. A few weeks later the dealership called me and asked if I would be interested in a pre-owned one and I said yes. So I ened up checking out this white 2012 SE. I fell in love with it, signed the papers, said goodbye to the Grand Prix and took my new ride home. The payment is much more reasonable, even though it's used it's barely broken in and the dealership did such an awesome job of detailing it, there was no indication of anyone previously owning it. It looked like it just came from the factory. I actually am glad I went with car because even though it is only an SE and not loaded like the other car I like it way better and even for a base car it is very loaded. The base Camaro cost around the same but you get way more car for your money on the Charger.
As far as mods go, I am going to keep it simple. Just going to get the recharge hood stripe package from pfyc.com, black then I'll add a red pin stripe around the edge. I'll do the same to the trunk and as well tint the rear windows.
