Those look like really freaking expensive drop-in air filters.
I don't think any of those are CAIs - each one is simply listed and (regular) intake filter - just as you stated. apples/oranges

I had the Mopar cai on my 2012 300 SRT and I really felt like I lost power overall. I don't have any proof of that so it could have just been me. I don't mind gaining at least 10hp, that's a lot better than getting a cai and gaining no hp overall. I have always had a cai so to me it's like opening the hood and going "oh.....it's just stock." Lol, it's the simple things for me. Exhaust and intake. This time a little engine dress up and some other decals but I am not out there trying to roll up and run and gun next to a Hellcat or anything like that.

2012 Chrysler 300 SRT w/ Mopar SRT cai and LSP Loudmouth exhaust (sold)
2015 Jeep SRT w/ Injen cai and GTHAUS exhaust (sold)
2017 Charger SRT w/ mid muffler delete (current)

one of the CAIs in that shootout performed pretty bad too - it seemed unexpected by the reviewer. maybe that one and yours weren't installed quite correctly? they mentioned going back to redo the review, but I don't know if they did or not. or, maybe that was just a poorly designed item (are you sure it was marketed as a CAI and not just a regular intake?).

I honestly don't remember. I just remember they came out with the Mopar SRT intake. I had it installed by the dealership at the time and it was a massive filter like we see on the 392's. To me it didn't look any different than other cai's. It sure didn't look like the stock intake system.

The point of that article is, there is not really any significant increase in power with the CAI.. The engine flows given amount of air, and that air needs specific amount of fuel for proper combustion. All the CAI will do is increase throttle response due to less restriction. Will not significantly change power. This is applicable to ANY engine. 5.7 or the 392. Basic physics, thermodynamics and combustion principles.

I love this . It's like a science channel. From U.K.
