I have the code in the charger U0103 2006 the display transmisson come on P R N D 8 (on auto stick)
My mechanic has changed the automatic transmicion modules , motor and shifter assembly,: and the problem remains the same. and I hope you can help me to solve my problem I'm desperate A little.
I appreciate your help
It was an independent workshop, because the dealer did not give me solutions.
I read in forums that is a common problem in these cars so I want to see if any of you have had problems like mine and as they have solved. I'm desperate and I need my car solution has almost 3 months in the garage.
U0103-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH ELECTRIC GEAR SHIFT MODULE
Possible Causes: CAN-B OR CAN-C BUS CIRCUITS OPEN OR SHORTED DTCS RELATED TO BATTERY VOLTAGE, IGNITION, OR VIN MESSAGES FCM NOT CONFIGURED CORRECTLY SHIFTER LEVER ASSEMBLY SHIFTER LEVER ASSEMBLY POWER AND GROUND MODULE THAT SET THIS DTC
Some of these possible causes can be eliminated if there are no other DTCs being logged. If there are other DTCs, check them out to see if they are affecting U0103.
Check the wiring/connectors to see if any are loose/corroded, frayed, etc ...
Since the mechanic replaced the SLA and transmission modules, I would expect he/she would have noticed any wiring/connector issues in these areas.
Inspect the other areas that have not been checked. Check the Front Control Module (FCM) for wiring/connector issues. The FCM is mounted on the front of the fuse box in the engine bay.
.
I don't have any pictures. The FCM is mounted to the front of the fuse box in the engine bay (passenger side). The fuse box is mounted in a horizontal position and the FCM is mounted onto the front of the fuse box in a vertical position.
The FCM does not have any direct control of the gear shift module. But the FCM does provide a link between the CAN bus network and some powertrain systems and the network for body and interior modules. If the problem is an electrical connection issue (wiring/connector), the FCM is suspect because it's mounted in the engine bay and exposed to corrosion, etc ...
So it's always good to at least check the condition of the wiring/connectors attached to the FCM whenever the FCM is included in the list of 'Probable Causes'.

Thanks for the reply....as soon as this rain lets up I will take a closer look.
For anyone else that has had this problem, what was the end cost to fix?
