Tried searching this forum and others to answer the question. Bought a Diablo inTune for my 14 Charger RT AWD. Nowhere can I disable AWD in it. Was hoping maybe you guys knew. Seen reviews on pulling fuses ands some mythical key cycle routine, but would like to know what really works. From the electronics side, I can disable the electronic clutch if I have to, but was looking for something more elegant. Turned Traction Control off but still seems like AWD is on with dry pavement, 50'F day. The car should be able to spin the tires a little.
Any thoughts or pointers to other sites? Thanks guys
I can understand wanting to be able to light them up on occasion but that's the beauty of our awd... It won't let you. If the Mercedes guys haven't figured out how to do it on their 4matics, I doubt there is a way it can be done. I'd be interested in finding out if it can be done.
Under normal circumstances (e.g. three season driving) it disconnects the front wheels effectively making it RWD. It's an outstanding system. Why change it?
THIS!!!!! Its only in AWD mode when needed. Im actually thinking about an AWD R/T Charger in the future since I will be moving to Nebraska next month. Of course the Bee will stay in the garage.
As a14umbra stated, the AWD system is usually in RWD mode, and as far as I know, there is no way to turn off the AWD system when it detects the proper parameters that activate it. (temperature, rain, wipers being on, excessive tire spin). When you turn off the traction control, I'm almost positive that also activates the AWD.
I have gotten some minor tire chirping out of mine already, with a few very light black marks, but that is it.
What if I just remove Fuse # 48? Will i still have TC and ABS but just stay in RWD? I can drive my car in Auto Stick or Paddle shifter mode in RWD? and still have TC and ABS? whats FCW??
