Hey guys,

I've been looking around for some LED headlights to replace the stock halogens in my 2014 Charger SXT+, and I've fallen for this particular set:

http://www.carid.com/2014-dodge-charger-headlights/spyder-u-bar-headlights-15928082.html

It looks totally aggressive and I really prefer them over halos. I've searched throughout the forums and I've found posts describing problems with the install, modifying to HIDs, etc. Unfortunately I'm not at all tech savvy with this stuff so I would like some advice from you guys. How good are they?

My main concern: the product comes with H7 and H1 low/high beam bulbs. Are these halogens, and if so will they appear yellow in contrast to the white LED tube? https://youtu.be/98CGdQZdnRc?t=183 - If you take a look at this video at 3:00 you'll see what I mean. This is definitely not how want the headlights to look. I'm looking for a nice, bright white throughout. If they do appear yellow, I can modify them to HIDs, correct? Ive seen a couple posts detailing this mod, although I can barely follow along.

Anyways, I'd appreciate your guys' input on this stuff. I wanna rock these headlights as soon as I can!

Cheers

Yea no worries, I'm in the same boat, although I called back and they said the shipment will arrive June 9th...

I was not happy with how the tube lights looked during the day, you can not see them, but looked good at night.
I keep hearing about this, I guess the only way to know for sure would be to try them out myself :/

I had them on my R/T they looked okay, just not bright enough for me. I went back to my OEM & installed Oracle Halos
I was originally so torn over the Spyder and the Oracle lights. Would you say the Oracle's were much better? Did you get the colorshift version?

How good are they? CARiD also has a more expensive version made by IPCW:

Also, a buddy of mine said it's no problem and that I could just buy LED bulbs for the low/high beams and that they would fit right in. I'm a bit skeptical, is this true? If so then I guess I have nothing to worry about! Anyways, I'd appreciate your guys' input on this stuff. I wanna rock these headlights as soon as I can!

The Black set from what I remember was for the HID bulb. The chrome was for the halogen bulb. Both have a cutoff line in the lens so you can put the HID in both sets with out blinding on coming traffic. originally. I had HID aftermarket kit that I had in the OEM lights that where made to fit the H7 socket. I got the chrome Spyder headlight and did little modification to get that to fit in there and added a 55w led to the H1 low / high beam bulb. I also added the the led to the fog lights to keep it all the same color. The bulbs that come with it are cheap and have no idea where you could find a replacement if they burnout. I sold that car and if I was too do it again I would stick with the OEM HID housing modify that one with and aftermarket HID set with resistor to keep the head light out indicator from coming on. I was not happy with how the tube lights looked during the day, you can not see them, but looked good at night. The lens in the spyder really makes the H7 seem darker at night and more difficult to see even with the HID in there.

I hated the halogen bulbs that came with Spyder lights. Couldn't see anything. Like a glorified flashlight. Don't plan on using them long. Install HIDs!

I like the look. You'll have to do some pictures after you're done. Not sure about 11-13's but my 2010 I had to remove the front fascia to install new headlights. It was a pain but YouTube helped. Also ran into compatibility issues with HIDs. I tried anti-flicker/canceler harnesses and even a relay wire harness that pulls juice from the battery. Nothing worked well. I ended up buying CANBUS-style HID ballast. I have them in my headlights and fogs. I found road spray gets to the ballast and sometimes ruins them. I think I have that under control because I mounted my ballast in a high and dry spot and secured them with zip-ties. The 9006 wire harnesses that came in the 2010s sucked. I've already replaced 3 of them already. After you get everything hooked up move the wires around. If the HIDs shut off then your 9006 plug isn't making a good enough connection. You can try bending the pins slightly to get a better connection.
