FYI, there is a new update for some of our chargers for Uconnect. It is up to version 16.x. It takes a LONG time to run the update so be prepared for a long sitting.
Go to the drive.uconnect website, I don't have the exact link. Then go to support and updates. It will ask for your VIN number and let you know if there's an update. If there is, you have to extract an ISO onto a thumb drive. When you plug that thumbdrive in, the car will take over and start updating.
You're supposed to leave it in run with the engine off just like you do when you flash the PCM. But during the update the ignition switched off and then it bricked. A little while ago, I noticed it was trying to restart the update even though I wasn't in the car.
As said before re. the updates - it is safest if you do not just keep the ignition on RUN, but really let the engine run for teh update - it can easily take 45 min and teh screen shown in the first pucture is perfectly fine - don't worry - it will come !!!
I agree...the last update that I did on my Charger's UConnect (the update related to remote hacking), I left the engine running for the whole update and never had a problem. I did the same thing for my wife's Durango...no issues there either.
Not really sure what update it is but it went from 15 to 16. So I thought it was bricked but when I turned the car on this morning, the screen came back with the new version and all is well now... I guess by leaving the thumbdrive in there, it resurrected all by itself.
