2013 R/T, little disappointed with low-end performance?

I have a 2013 R/T. I really expected that when I have TC off and I stomp the throttle it would light up tires from a dead stop. If I power brake I can break them loose long as I donít have a bunch of people in the car. I had 5 bigger guys in the car and it wouldnít even power brake. Embarrassing!!
So it begs the question. Is this motor being limited by the ECM? Is there a high amount of torque management? Unfortunately there are no tuners available that Iím aware of, but Iím hoping a tuner will unlock some of the power that is held back for safty reasons.

People say otherwise, but I can tell there is tremendous torque management in 1st gear because this car is slower from a dead stop than my 95 Impala SS

I wonder if the torque management is different on the 5.7L versus the 6.4L. As we noted in another thread, trans is only rated to 428lb-ft of torque, yet the 6.4L put out 470. TM is very apparent between shifts, and when eliminated or reduced with a tuner the cars speed up big time (the super bees running 12.1 and 12.0).

So get a tuner, but your transmission could be on borrowed time....

Super Track Pak, completely disable traction control (hold 5 seconds), sport mode on, DiabloSport 91 tune, throttle boost 20%, shift firm enabled = leaves black marks everytime I stomp on it.

None of the newer auto trans vehicles launch like their numbers would suggested from the factory. Tons of toque management... My totally stock 2000 Camaro SS would chirp the tires on 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts with the automatic at full throttle. No auto trans car seems to do that now. From a dead stop, my Challenger R/T is fast, but not blindingly so.

My 06 will lay down rubber from both tires from a stop with just CAI, a tune and the Traction Control turned off. Different Chargers of the same year and model have different power levels. I have one of the good ones. You might have gotten shafted.

I have the same set up and my car tears ass. I got some ACES IV and now run the 93 tune. The car moves..the tuner really unlocks top end power from what I can feel.

Chris! First off, stop putting higher octane than needed gas in the tank, it will only slow you down.
Turn off traction control as best you can.
Put it in Autostick and then give it a shot.
If you leave it in automatic, you have a chance the car doesnt wanna do what you wanna do.
Sit straight and be quick on the accelerator, if you accelerate like a grandma then the car will read your slowness and work slowly. If you accelerate like it is GTA then the car will understand you stole it and cops are after it lol

Mine felt like a slug when I got it. As I put more miles on it and the adaptives adjusted to my driving style my RT got stronger when the engine broke in.

This is true..mine got much faster once it broke in. The tuner woke it up as well. For me it seems that when I'm in auto stick the car seems slower. Automatic gives me optimal shift points and allows me to maximize the power band.
