x2! I've had this mod for years now since it was a very cheap/easy to have done. Everyone I know loves the sound and there's no drone while cruising. There's only a little rumble when running on all 8 cylinders. When MDS kicks in, you can hardly hear the motor at all. The change in sound is very apparant every time you go up a hill on the freeway.

I did this on my 06 Daytona. For the most part I love it but when the MDS kicks in I have a very small amount of drone at highway speeds. Other then that I love it!

Don't be so quick to say that exhaust changes cannot void your warranty. It can be claimed that too LITTLE back pressure can cause burned valves through lean conditions in the engine. Google it. Granted most of the mods are not going to do enough to cause this but extremely open systems can.

Be careful about "a mechanic at the dealership" saying it would not affect your warranty....he hasn't the say in the matter.

I didn't get to finish my post due to work issues....(pesky work stuff).

Anyway, I add dual exhaust on my 05 Grand Marquis. I called the Toyota dealer (bought it used with a dealer engine warranty) and they simply said the warranty would be void if I did any mod that would/could cause the issue. They would not be more specific regarding the dual exhaust.....

However "experts" on the Ford Forum for Panthers (Crown Vics, Town Cars, and Grand Marquis - all the same) strongly cautioned to stay with 2 or 2.25" pipes. Bigger was actually BAD for torque AND the valves.

.....least thats what they said. BTW I had the duals put on and it ran great for 60k like that .....now it is at the Dodge dealer waiting for a grandma who like duals with chrome tips.......

Meh I just had it done about two weeks ago and its ok at best. Slightly louder than the stock Daytona setup. Will definitely still be getting a catback system. Wouldnt do it again if I had the choice but maybe if your just looking for a very mild increase then go for it.

I had this done a few weeks ago. Loved the sound. Just not load enough anymore. Just got used to it. Thinking of replacing the resos with maybe a slp. Anyone done this? Hellofa dead thread bump from 2006. Jesus imma rookie
