As far as I know, the Blacktop isn't limited edition

blacktop is RWD only, too.

Why do you need AWD for? Just put some Blizzack snow tires on and that car will go through any snow that mother nature dumps on the roads. My Daytona goes through snow without any problems with Blizzack's.

The Blacktop Package is a permanent option package at this point but as was stated that is in rear wheel drive only as well.

Yep. Sounds like special editions may just not be for me. Currently trying to decide between the Charger RT AWD or Taurus SHO. But hey, i've got time.

Snow is no reason to avoid a RWD car as long as you use decent snow tires.

While the LX isn't as balanced a platform (weight wise) as something like a Ford Panther (Crown Vic, Marquis, Marauder, Town Car, etc.), the traction control makes up for it to some extent. However, the bottom line is decent snow tires (I've been sporting Blizzaks for every winter with the Charger so far, with great success as you can see above).
