What's your thought on Windows 8?

Love it? Hate it? Let's hear your thought. I find it really interesting that most of my hardcore pc player friends hate windows 8.

Well at work I use Windows 7 at home I have a Mac. I really enjoy both to be honest, neither really out perform each other except for the fact that my work computer is far more powerful than my wee little laptop.

I was wondering how Windows 8 was fairing. I was hearing that it wasn't so good too.

I don't touch any new MS product until the first Service Pack is out.

IF it lives up to the hype (for once) and a tablet and laptop can integrate fairly seamlessly, well then I might just have to upgrade.

Not this time.
The windows 8 on ARM based tablet will not run ANY x86 based codes. EVER. ARM chips are simply not up to the task of any real computing.

I think MS is trying too hard to appeal to the mobile market. And it finally managed to hurt itself in its best field--Windows.

I tried a few laptop with Win8 installed. Feels like a larger tablet, but without touch screen.

No wonder they kicked that Windows department manager.

Tried it 3 times, instant frustration. Thankfully it was my friends computer and not my own. Linux all the way.

I am using it now on my work desktop and am neutral to mildly positive about it. Some things are better, such as peripheral equipment and a very smooth and fast interface compared to Win 7 on the same hardware. I just upgraded with no hardware changes. Installation etc. was also easy. I had the consumer preview installed on my convertible labtop/tablet. I loved it on that and it really rocked. the metro interface is perfect for the fingers. But there are some third party hardware drivers missing that I needed so I went back to seven on that a little unwillingly. I am looking forward to a convertible or tablet with 8. If you are thinking of upgrading, definitely go with the tablet/convertible form factor. It is nearly identical to 7 if you are using it on an old-fashioned desktop.

I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only reason I have it is because I spilled a beer on my laptop 2 weeks ago and fried it instantly so I had to go out and buy a new one.

WTF WERE THEY THINKING?????????????????

This is an absolute mess.

MICROSOFT, this is for you:
