I must say the Pentastar V6 is the best V6 engine in class . Way better than what hyundai/kia has to offer.

I still associate hyundai with cheap knock-offs. Even their logo is a copy of Honda! They may look nice/sporty, but I seriously doubt their actual quality is as good as the exterior.

Looks like they're just copying the Japanese. Honda and Toyota both got busted for this about 5 years ago. They were apparently running their cars with no accessories to get their numbers.

What I'd like to see is for Kia/Hyundai to be forced to buy back the cars of any owners that claim the MPG ratings were their deciding factor in purchasing from them. Then that would teach them a lesson.

Copying off Japanese every single thing. First the logo, then the design, then the cheating. lol. I read somewhere they are offering cash compensation. Their resale value would be trash.

It's a serious blunder and they need to correct it. Heads will roll for sure.

However, it doesn't change the reality that Hyundai/Kia has outstanding quality inside and out. This is only a 1-2 mpg change in claimed MPG and it doesn't change the fact they they are a global force in the automotive industry that has been changing the game for other manufacturers.

Geo-political prejudice aside, they are a serious force to be reckoned with in the auto industry and they are making huge strides into the performance market. The other auto manufacturers know not to underestimate them and are watching their gains in the market carefully.
