In the land of the big three aka Michigan we kill and eat prius owners!
But your story reminds me of the south park episode where every was so smug because they drove energy efficient vehicles.

I wonder if those morons who traded in a Charger R/T for a Prius actually realize that the beating they took trading in the R/T completely negates any savings they will see at the pump? Think about it, even if the Charger is a gas guzzler, just figure up the money lost on the Charger during the trade compared to what it cost in gas to drive the Charger on a daily basis.

It's like this. Fossil fuels will be burned, until there's none left to burn. It'll either be "us" (ie. readers of this forum, other North Americans, Europeans, Australians) who do the burning, or it'll be "them" (ie. Chinese, Koreans).
So. Ask yourself... do you want US to burn the "cheap" gas, or THEM?
The more gas WE burn now, the more prices go up and impacts "emerging" nations. Yeah. Keep the man down!

So who is going to be the first one to start a thread on their forums and link this thread to it? I wonder if they realize how "high horsed" they come across to non Prius drivers? Maybe it is time for them to see how the rest of the world views their upitty up atttitude.
If you want a chuckle, take a look at this and you will see that they are drinking the kool-aid.....
Wow, that dude is a tool. He must be talking about the 2.7L charger as the 0-60 time of the Prius is about 10-11 seconds... which is still a bit slower than the 2.7L.
Here's another this gem from that forum, "Prius is incredible at passing speed on the highway. Once you experience acceleration of HSD at 30-70mph range, you can't go back to gear shifting transmission."
Incredible? I'd call it snail-like considering the Prius is one of the slowest vehicles on the road. Actually, discounting trucks/SUVs, I believe only the Chevy Aveo is slower than the Prius.
alright all you haters, im no hippy, (even though i listen to grateful dead almost all day) now ofcourse the smug sob is a silly bastard guy trying to strut his stuff. But understand its important for the balance of things to have tree huggin hippies too. i dislike when anybody preaches a side aside from happiness, love, morality, and friendship. (on that note if someone wants to kill me or someone i love ill be the first one to put a bullet through em
ahh ****, i am a hippy,
least im a moderate one, i love the country, the troops, my gas guzzler, and i shower.
my grateful dead collection is 32 gigs btw
wow those prius guys are a bunch of tools. get a bike if your worried about mileage.
If people want good gas mileage why don't they get the new TDI Jetta instead of the smug Prius?
They'll get 40 city/50+ mpg highway. Better highway than the Prius, but slightly worse in the city. You also don't have to worry about complicated internals, eventually replacing a $2,000 battery pack, and the car is pretty much guaranteed to run 10-15 years since it's a nearly invincible diesel engine.
And if performance is your thing, it's much faster (0-60 in the low 8's vs. 10-11 seconds), and they'll eventually be chip/tune to get even more power for the diesel.
Oh, and the pricing is about the same, maybe even slightly better for the diesel.
I dunno, I guess I just can't stand Prius drivers becacuse they claim to be "Saving the Environment," but they're doing anything but...

Is that priuschat forum for real? I hope its just a piece of internet comedy. I'll drive myself off a bridge into the river the day a prius beats me in a race!
Okay, I read enough of that prius crap!! I own a Toyota Corolla (gas reasons only) and it's larger then the prius, and about 10 mpgs less then the prius. I had a loaner prius (had corolla issues) once. In my opinion, they should put cut away floors in, so you can use your feet to get that death trap rolling off the line! The only way a prius will beat a Charger, is if it's parked!!!!
For the comment about the mean front end on the Charger, I totally agree, but the comment about the rear end on the Charger looking like a bunny, "I'm sorry for passing you." That coming from a AA battery operated whined-up toy!! Get real!!
