I don't get around here to much, but after Christmas I completed the Audio install on my daughter's SXT. She got the car last Christmas, and the rims installed for 16th Bday in Feb 08. This Christmas her gift was the system. I'll try and get some pics up soon, but the install went like this:
-Eclipse 7 inch touch wide screen with Navigation (because of navigation it plays DVD's while driving)
-Parrot Blue tooth Interface
-JL 3.5 speaker mounted in the dash for the Parrot to compensate for the amped music
-Eclipse Ipod Interface
-JL Wedge sub enclosure with 3 JL 12's (mounted on a riser in the trunk)
-JL 500 watt monoblock amp with remote base controller
-JL VR6.5 CXI component speakers front and back (mids and highs)
-Alpine 4x100 amo
-JL twisted wire installation kit
All and all it sounds good and looks great. There was a lot of tweaking it to get the sound right, and it still could use a little more tweaking. We run this same bass setup in my son's SUV and it is amazing how much sound lose with the enclosure being in the trunk. I knew there were would be a difference, but it is substantial.

She does very well in sports and school, and has a part time job. I'll keep spoiling her as long as she keeps doing the right thing :lol
Kansas, I see you added HID's. I had read some information about the head light lenses covers melting and or distorting with aftermarket HID's ... Have you had any problems?

I haven't had any issues as of yet. I never heard of anything like that before. After about driving with my headlights on for about 2 hours in one day, I touched the lens and didn't feel any heat at all. In fact my stock bulbs got hotter than these to the touch.

I had an escalade lense distort over time after an HID and I read some charger owners were having the same problem. Thanks for the info.

if she has the rear fold out arm rest then get a custom bandpass box sealed off from the trunk ported into the cabin through the armrest, if she doesn't have it ported through the back deck in the stock 8" hole to get that missing sound back. will sound great + eliminate trunk rattle. a ported bandpass box is the best solution for cars with trunks
+ aftermarket hid's havent givin me or anyone i know problems, they actually run cooler than stock halogen. you can get them for 55-60 shipped too now so you can't go wrong. hope that helps at all :)

I'll have to look into that. I have never really liked the sound of a ported enclosure. Don't get me wrong it sounds awesome, but since I have a side by side comparison to a tahoe, with the same bass set up, I can certainly here a difference.

I paid a little more locally, with an install; I do have a swap out warranty and a warranty on the install .. but that is a good deal

Picture is good, navigation is good. We had to add a JL 3.5 inch speaker to the center dash for the parrot to sound decent. The pre-amps out leave a little to be desired. I get better sound out of some much lower cost units.
Setting up the blue tooth can be a hassle, and the user interfaces can be a hassle, but overall it is a good unit that looks good in the charger. Installing it in the 08 was tricky because of the ignition changes in 08. For the price you should be overall satisfied.
