hey whats up CF members,
I'm thinking of making an amp rack but i cant figure which way id like to go? I wana see what every one else has I'm looking for some thing simple. Ive got two amps and a capacitor and I would like to use the pockets on the side of the trunk where the tail light screws are if possible? so can you help by posting pics of what all you CF members are working with? this is going to be a simple try to do it myself job cause im really bored with the mounting behind the box/seat old school look lol.....

Well, that can be a tried and true method (behind the box), but if it has you down, then go for it. However, I'm thinking that if you have amps big enough to warrant a capacitor, you will not fit them in the pocket wells. One of the acoustic drawbacks to the Charger is the layout in the trunk space. You either do it the old fashioned way, go stock with the Kicker upgrade, or you have to sacrifice your trunk for some big crazy setup. Anything in between that has limitations sound wise or looks wise. There will be a compromise somewhere. Even if you go with the well pockets for subs you have no place to put the amps unless you put them where your spare tire would go. I can't think of any other way.
That's why I had TC Customz build me a fine enclosure that fits the bill.

This was one of my first set ups in the charger...just had the amp and x overs mounted on a piece of mdf that was mounted behind the rear seats...that was before I had subs in there and before it was carpeted as you can see...

Here is my set up and you can get all the details of the enclosure from this link and the one nested within from when it was sitting in my living room. Off the top of my head I think the amp space is 12" x 36". No pictures of that, as the amps were not mounted.

Sound would have a bit of trouble getting to the cabin with his setup, I have my seats one one side folded down when I want to hear it bang.

I made the box myself. It sounds awesome. Noone thinks it does...but it does:banana:

Actually there is no problem whatsoever with sounds in the cabin. Most people online think it doesnt sound good but everyone who gets in the car thinks I have at least 2 10"s. You'd have to hear it in person to believe me.
Its okay though...join the bandwagon :bigthumb: j/p..it does sound bad ass though. Better than when I had 2 12"s facing the rear of the car.

Plans? You mean like a diagram with measurements?
