I recently got a new alarm - the VIPER 5901 LC3 and i have a few questions.

My parents bought this for me in New York and mailed it to me in Florida. Anyone know of any good install shops around the Delray Beach area or so? Also, does anyone know what this unit would cost me to install into the charger?

Im looking to install in by the end of the month and just need to know the price on installation. I hope nothing crazy.

Does anyone have this alarm? Do you like it? Any comments about it?

Thanks

Not that this helps you directly, but I'm having one of those installed on the 22nd. It'll be the third model in my car since May. I've thoroughly read the stats and manual on this alarm and it's actually very, very good. You'll probably like it.

Install for this scale of alarm is fairly complicated. There's a good three hours of labour to do it right. I'd expect anywhere from $100 to $200 for an install. There could be a little extra in materials, because they'll need straps and things to tighten up wires, for instance.

it takes at least 5-7 hours to do that alarm the right way and hide it so NO one can find it if they break into the car. viper pays if the car is stolen BUT they are getting really strict on were we hide them. YOU also will need a KX536 TO BY PASS THE KEY thats around $100 installed and around $250 to install the alarm into a LX platform. ITS no fun what so ever to install that alarm in our cars. what ever you do stay away from BOCA TINT AND TUNES. chain saw installers. i could do it for you BUT you will be with out the car for at least 2 days. we are for some reason because of the heat PACKED UP to our ears with cars. AND we dont just tap wires to connect them around here. WE strip and soider all our wires together as VIPER tells us to do for the alarms warranty.

Thank you anguish for the info. Please let me know howthe install goes And how you likethe alarm.

Sound&security - so I'm looking at 350 for install? I may have to give you a ring.
Having the car for 2 days is not an issue. I was looking between 2-300 for install. I may be able to push to 350. Thanls for the info. I've also heard bad things about Boca tint so I had no intentions going there.

So im going to be giving Sound&Sercuity, Steve a call this week or next to set a date to install the alarm.

However i was thinking bout maybe getting the 5701 instead maybe... Would this be a smart choice or should i just keep the 5901? Give me a fewmore bucks towardss install.

I also just purchased the 506t - Audio Glass Break sensor and the 520t - bnattery back up system. Im sure this is going to add to the install of the alarm, i hope not much though.

I hear a lot of good about both of these systems so well just have to see.

I a very good alarm and the time line of getting it install sounds correct. Adding the glass sensor and the backup battery is also a good suggestion. It will add addictional time, but I think it is well worth it in the long run..
