SO this is the other project Ive had in the works for some time now. Some of you amy recognize this setup from fellow forum member Breeves20. He had this in his car for a bit and put it up for sale, so I couldnt possibly pass up this setup that was originally built for a Sublime!

The system consists of a ported bandpass box, custom fit for the trunk with front and side beauty panels wrapped in suede. Inside the box, the the back and bottom walls are painted Sublime to match, and the sides are also wrapped in suede. In the floor, the center is cut out to show the DAYTONA logo with green neon lighting underneath, as well as inside the box.

As far as equipment goes, this is one JL Audio 13W7 being powered by TWO Alpine PDX1.1000 amplifiers (which are mounted in the spair tire well..... sorry, no pics of that). I also installed a new headunit, and I chose to go with the Pioneer AVIC-F900BT. THis headunit seems to be really nice so far. I went with the modules to retain steering wheel controls as well, so everything is still in tact and functional. The DVD player on this unit is fantastic, and the 3D NAV feature is really cool.

Here are the pics of the trunk:

Im really happy with the way everything came out. Just a few minor things to wrap up still. The box is ported directly into the rear decklid of the car, so virtually no bass is played in the trunk whatsoever. Had to do a bit of surgery to the rear decklid ( :D ), but it was worth it in the end. I need to make some sort of grille/speaker cover to go over the hole I had to cut out in the rear decklid to really finish it off because right now there's just one big hole that goes into the MDF port! Ill get pics of that when I finish it off.

Please let me know what you think!

Will do... and yes, it does hit damn hard!

Great question... With the work left to do as far as finalizing and finishing the port in the rear deck, I think I wil be able to obtain a bit more of the sound Im looking for. Dont get me wrong, this sucker hammers bass notes out like crazy---but it just seems to be missing a little bit of oooomph on the real low end bass notes. B making the port a bit longer of a chamber, I can get some more out of the low end notes, so we'll see how that turns out when it's all said and done. But even if I had to live with it as it is now, I very well could. With all the bass coming directly into the car, it sounds great!

Looks dope, don't make the port TOO long or the high bass will sound muddy i had to learn that the hard way in my impala. Theres nothing better than a deep low note shaking your interior and flexing the roof/back doors. What are you going to use for mids/highs? unless you already got that covered. :respect:

Do you have any pics of the hole? Even unfinished, I'd just like to see how you did it. Thanks
