SoCal March Meet--Official Convoy Thread!

If you already have a concrete plan post it here for everyone to see.

The purpose of this thread is to help those who are looking to hook up with convoys to the March Spring Fling, this information will give you the meeting points, times and so forth.

coordinate phone numbers and two way radio channels thru pm's only!

Right now we have the Major Convoys coming from Seattle thru Oregon, Northern Cal, Central Cal and finally ending in Irvine.

We have one coming from AZ

We have one coming from San Diego.

I want you to post in this format:


ex:
Convoy Commander:Sweeper6, Jason Scott,
Initial Meeting Point: Irvine Spectrum 1234 any street
Time: 10am,
Departure: 1015
1st Grouping Point: Hooters, 1234 anystreet Anaheim CA
Time: 1030
Departure: 1045
Note: you can post as many grouping points as necessary
Ending Point: Day of: Irvine DCX Headquarters.[ ] Nite Before, hotel you are staying
List of attendies:
1. Tmagnum, Tom
2. Fatchance, John
etc.

Once the convoy commanders are identified and the list is set it will be the convoy commanders job to designate the initial meeting point, times and grouping points.

We are trying to eliminate mulitiple posts in multiple threads and create one place for everyone to view if they want to join in on a convoy.

It will also be a good idea to devise a route plan to include gas stops, food, rests (for those coming for way out), recovery plans in case of a break down. This does not need to be posted here, but must be available to all who are in the convoy.

I will moderate this thread and update it daily. I will also help with the coordination of the different convoys linking up with oneanother. (if needed)

Where are the possible convoy areas...? I'm hardly 20 min from Irvine but don't want to cruise in alone. Is anyone even meeting at Hooters or is that just an example? So confused!!

The convoy areas are going to be posted here shortly, so keep watching this thread.

The hooters thing was an example but it doesn't mean that it can't happen. Keep watching the thread for updates.

I'll be updating each nite when I get home from work.

Will be meeting at the I-5/ 580 interchange. There is a rest stop just south from the interchange and linking up with the Northwest Convoy.

I need to gather some more info as far as meeting points for who's coming from SANTA BARBRA, VENTURA, 1000 OAKS ((GOT THE AGOURA HILLS COVERED)) and what freeway you want to use to head south on.

Looks like the plan is to meet at the Chevron, head down the 15 to the 261 toll road and into Irvine. For those with Fastrack once you pass the toll booth kindly just wait on the side while those without pay the toll.

Right now the intial meeting point will be the oceanside rest stop. .

For those who are in So San Deigo they can meet at Telegraph and the 805. There is a smog station and dry cleaners there. Anyone interested meet there at 9:00am they leave at 9:10 am They will meet up with the other members at the Oceanside rest stop at 10:00am.



Convoy CDR:

Initial Mtg Point: Rest stop on the 5, about 6 miles north of Oceanside park in the truck area, you'll have more room to stage!

Not wanting to keep you waiting but alas I must. Found out this afternoon that one of my soldiers was killed in an auto accident today and I need to do a casualty assistance visit to his family tonite. Not by far one of my favored things to do. The updates will have to wait till tomorrow morning. I know you understand.

I would say Telegraph and then the rest area would be the second stop. D&B will be to complictated to get in and out of with so many cars.

Sorry for the delay. Just got internet back up after the move. Here is what I have for the northwest convoy

The Northwest Caravoy has picked the two-way radio freqs. Channel "5" will be the main channel. Channels "15" and "20" will be the back-ups.

All others that are going to use two way radios I would suggest using the same freq setup.

By request I will not post members phone numbers on here. However if you look at the convoy listing and send them a pm requesting # exchange I'm sure they'll share.

Remeber that not all attendees are members of all 3 forums, so you might have to log onto the other sites, lxfourms.com / 300Cforums.com to get a pm to them.

Dano, it's saying we leave at 10:15 but I'm thinking closer to 10:30-10:40. We're only 14 miles from DCX HQ & I don't want to be 30 minutes early. Plus I have a lot of detailing to do & doubt I'll be done before 10. I'll probably show up around 10:20 & wait for whoever - as of right now it's showing 4 of us are meeting at hooters. Hopefully I won't be the only one there and I think it's weird we're the closest location to the meet & we have the fewest amount of people! If anyone else wants to meet at hooters, get there before 10:40. See you in the morning!

That blows! Only 4 people! I am in Huntington Beach adn would have gone up there just to cruise, but if there's only four of us, I am just going to head straight there. I'll see you guys there.
