What is the part number for this u build it system? I can't find anything like it on your web site...

Another question I have is this... Have you ever given any thought towards making a dual snorkle piece available for this system that would allow us to build a twin tube CAI going to each side (with filters down low in front of the inner fenders) which would allow us to take advantage off the ambient air that can be 'rammed' into this area using the 'chilly mod' on both sides?
I currently have this mod on the drivers side and while doing data logging I have noticed that I am getting enough airflow up thru this area to drive my intake temps down near or at ambient temp at 45 mph and above... I also have added a sheet metal piece that blocks off the area around the front frame rail that keeps engine heat from mixing with this clean air.
I should add for the doubters that might think I have blocked necessary air to keep engine temps down that my engine temps have not changed one bit with this mod. What it HAS done is to create an area that has huge amounts of ambient air 'rammed' in once I get moving that would make for an excellent place for filter placement on both sides to increase the amount of airflow available for my engine...

I would think based on the comments of people in threads where people have made dual snorkle CAI's for their cars that there would be a great interest in the addition of this dual snorkle piece that would make it easier for those who are not welders to create the same thing for their cars.
My only other option is to either take up the offer for a local speed shop to build me a complete dual snorkle CAI out of stainless steel for $400 or have them at least make me a dual snorkle piece that I could use with this u build it kit to make one myself but then I have to make sure I can get the rubber pieces to mate the metal piece to the tubing from your kit.
I appreciate any input on this subject I can get. I am currently using your CAI that mates up to my SRT8 hood but want to go the dual snorkle route.

what about something like RandysWay twin cai? the least amount of pcs the better, less clamps.

Hello KCRTMOPAR,

We defiantly do not offer a part for the UBI that will allow the “dual snorkel”

I will be more than happy to pass this idea along to our R&D dept.

Thanks,
David

Thats like the one that I can have made for $400 which is a complete system including filters. I got the idea of having him make me one when I was there getting my RT dyno'ed and saw a twin pipe he had laying around that had been made for a turbo setup which he does quite a lot of work on. I took it over to my engine and held it up and it was perfect as far as size and radiator clearance. I have already modified the brake lines on the passenger side to the anti-lock brake system and I have a smaller windshield washer tank that I can mount out of the way behind my headlight to free up the remaining space for the right side pipe. The only thing remaining for me to do to prepare for the setup is to form some more sheet metal parts that will completely isolate the area from hot engine compartment air.

I got the impression that this U build it CAI kit was made so you could use some sort of glue to hold the pieces together and that you wouldn't need to use any more clamps than you would on a normal CAI.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I think it would complement the kit quite a lot and greatly increase the demand for it.

very good idea fellas....

and kcr, you could use this kit and just buy a dual inlet piece from that spectre company that also allows users to create a custom intake setup.... spectre stuff is cheap material though i hear but i have seen some pics of some wicked cool intakes made up from them by doing basically the same things these guys are offering.. looks like there quality might be better as well

David, I noticed for the UBI kit you also sell an 8" long by 4"OD tube separately from that link you attached but the part # is not listed on the airaid site... Is this part available?

part# 108-400

thanks
