How does on know if the feature is on or off without punching the gas to see if it is or not. Am I missing something.

This is correct.

ESP is standard on all Chargers but is an option on the base Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum.

You are right. It appears in the cluster under the temp gauge. Thanks.
