Getting it installed tomorrow but so far I hear good things. There's a few threads on it, do a search.

i have a kenwood ddx6019 in my mercedes and love it. it similar to the one you are looking at but an older model. have had it for 4 years with no problems. i used to tear through alpine units every year as they would jam with a burned cd. the kenwood is awesome and i think you will love it.

I have the last model to the one your getting and I love it. My only problem is the touch screen dosnet...touch...sometimes when its cold(mornings). I somehow doubt you see many 20 degree mornings though in TX making that a no problem. I have every option EXCEPT backup cam. Do yourself a favor and get the iPod/USB/sat radio(I got both). Make sure you ask your installer to enable the "dvd in motion"...if you care about that.

I just put the JVC KW-NX7000 in mine and am happy with it so far. It retails at $1299.
The touch screen is super sensitive which I like better than the Kenwood piece.
But other than that both are great pieces. Some trade offs here and there but both equally good pieces.

Before the Kenwood, I had a Clarion touchscreen. It was a good unit IMO, but the Kenwood is a lot better. I looked at some JVCs and Pioneer head units also, but ended up going w/the Kenwood. Let us know what you end up getting, P.

I just received my Clarion MAX685BT head unit from Soniceletronix today along with some 6x9s and tweeters. I really like the Kenwood decks but I tested the Clarion out at a local dealer and really like it as well. Couldn't beat the price. If you decide on the Kenwood go through Sonicelectronix, they are awesome!

@brlntblackse
How do you feel about your jvc 7000? do you have any pics of it with the dash kit? was a dash kit needed?'
Sorry for the questions but i'm about to buy one and wanted to check it out before.

I had my dnx8120 for about a year and I love it. I haven't even used all of the features it has and I only used the navi probably like 3 times. However it's good to know it's their and ready anytime I need to use it. I chose the dnx8120 over the pioneer units because it's pre amp voltage is higher and it has more pre amp outputs. Just in case you want to add a few more amps.
