Miscellaneous taxes and fees

Hi I'm very close to buying a Charger RT.
I need help at figuring out the final costs to bring the car home. This is the first time I'm buying a new car or any car.

I really don't like any surprises or additional fees. So can anyone help me piece together the taxes title etc.

I originally planned to order a Magnesium Pearl Charger RT but it appears the color is already discontinued. :sad: Options that I want are Road and Track Performance, Protection Group, and Powered Sunroof. From Edmunds.com invoice is $30,831 but right now actual invoice and MSRP is $300 more. One dealer said invoice for the car I want is $31,143. The $300 increase just happens to wipe out my discount from http://dc-collegegrad.com I've emailed over 25 dealers via Dodge's website and I got five offers of $500 below invoice for a factory order, but unfortunately no MagPearl. :redface:

Most of the dealerships are in NJ and I'm in NYC. So I'm wondering if $30,643 is the price that I can get the car at, what are the other fees that I need to pay to get the car home? Are taxes NJ tax or NY tax or both? Title fee? Registration fee? License fee? I can get the NY license myself right?

I can't believe they pulled the plug on the Mag. That is an awesome color.

I was going to go R&T with protection group but I didn't want to pay for 2 different sets of tires and only get 1 and I would have rather had the performance tires. I swapped that out and got a sound group.
You'll pay a 6% NJ sales tax and acouple hundred for the title

Some dealers are charging a DOC or documentation fee from $100 to $599. This is just profit for thr dealer, don't pay it.

If NJ sales tax is 6% and NY's is 7% you will be responsible for the difference.

Other than that, Use the www.dodge.com website to see if you can find a car with your desired options and color within a couple of hundred miles.

I looked at the NYS DMV site and it says there's no credit for paying NJ sales tax if I'm a NY resident purchasing in NJ. The NJ dealerships tells me that I will only pay NY sales tax.

I'm going to give my factory order to a dealer in NY almost two hours from NYC because their offer can't be beat. I'm hoping to have the car by May. Does anyone know if I will have problems bringing my car into a local service center? My cousin said dealerships will hold your car longer because we didn't purchase from them.

There is a protection group without that self sealing tires that goes with R&T package. It's $440 MSRP w/R&T, the other is $590 w/self sealing tires.
