nick can i ask why you went with vortech and not procharger

i got the vortech mainly because of the deal that i got. they kept my car for a month for R&D and testing which allowed me to aquire the vortech for their cost. I really wanted an SMS blower but the deal on this vortech system allowed me to get it a lot sooner and the price was really good. i havent done all my research on the pro-charger to know the pros or cons vs. vortech but one thing i really like about my vortech is the water cooled aftercooler. plus i get a 3 year 36k mile warranty on the vortech setup.
when i was getting everything setup Mike (SRT82NV) called me up and he raved about the pro-charger setup. He works for Chrysler and was telling me it was most definitely the way to go but at the 6k cost vs. my deal on the vortech + free install + tune the vortech beat it out by a long shot.
all in all i love my setup. i havent driven a car with any other blower on it but I believe the vortech will satisfy my long term power needs and I doubt I will put any more money into my engine anytime soon.

Not sure actually. On the DynoJet my car put 378 to the wheels baseline. Vortech uses a Mustang in which my car put down 332. After the install, tune, etc. Vortech said it put down 431 which is a 99 horsepower gain from stock. Havent had it on the Dyno Jet yet but I am guessing 480's-500's depending on weather, model, etc. They are never really really accurate as you can see with the other drama threads about dyno numbers ;(

This is true, basically because I am trying to keep everyone together by tailgating you guys. For some reason on every cruise everyone keeps like a mile of space between the cars, so much so that we:
a) get stuck at lights
b) cant hear everyone on the freaking radios
GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE!

Man ..... there are so many threads about the catch can ..... it filters out the hydrocarbons and combustion by-products that are normally in the air being circulated through the PCV system from the bottom of the engine through the PCV valve back into the intake to be burned up in the combustion chambers.
With the can installed, the engine ends up getting only clean air and gas, especially with the EGR disabled ... never any exhaust gas being re-circulated, either ...
Here's a thread I started with the type of performance gains you'll get with the Vortech. The "peak" HP numbers are there but the performance isn't and it is probably do to the weight more than anything...and the "peak" hp curve. http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87887

the performance is there when in autostick. i wonder if you guys were in autostick and at the right rpm ranges for a supercharged car. when i am rolling 45-50 3000-3250 rpms is best for pulling and pulling hard. 2nd gear is a dog in the charger and doesnt pull as hard as 3rd where as 1st is best for torque although it is real short with the vortech. you have to learn how to re-drive a supercharged car. it is not the same as a naturally aspirated car by any means.
to me the vortech is not a mash and go mod. i have a supercharged mercedes too which is a manual and you learn when you are pushing a lot of boost and when there is barely any coming through. tell jason to keep his car in auto stick and to keep the rpm's high when racing and he will have unleased an all new beast that is his car.

Looks great!
Where did you get the black elbows and connectors at?
nickinfleet

ordered them from thermal flex based upon the part numbers supplied by vortech. ran about 60 bucks.

Do you still have those part numbers?
I like the look of those, I've seen the "shiny" black ones, and they look like they are covered with electrical tape. Those would fit the look I'm going for under the hood.
