I've had my AIRAID filter for about a year and I think it's time I clean it. How often should I clean it and how do I do it?

Hello Carlos Garza,

We recommend every 25-35K for cleaning the air filter depending on your environment. If you are in really dusty conditions, then every 10-15K will be fine. General rule of thumb is when the filter is not red anymore, it is time to clean it.

The Airaid cleaning kit comes with a cleaning solution & new oil.

1. Take your filter off and spray the cleaning solution on the outside of the filter. Let the cleaning solution soak in for 10-15mins.

2. Take a low pressure hose and wash the air filter from the inside out, until all the dirt comes out of the filter. The filter should look white/off white after washing it out. Let the filter air dry.

3. Once the air filter is dry, apply the oil to the outside of the air filter. Let the air filter air dry again, and if there are any white spots on the filter, gently go over those spots with the oil again.

4. Let the filter air dry after oiling, and once dry you are ready to re install the air filter.

Any other questions, please let me know.
