Well, It's been a long road and the first sets of grills have been delivered. Thanks again to all you folks that helped get this project moving!!! Now that our mould is in full production and we have been able to re-structure our pricing, we are proud to announce the very first Group Buy for this item! Since some prefer to supply their own mesh (like Rogelio did - pics 1&2), we are now offering it at a lower price without the mesh, but if you do want our standard aluminum honeycomb upper and lower mesh kit (like on black SRT8 below), or would like it painted Matte black (grille only) check out the pricing for that below. For lower mesh, please specify standard or SRT8, as the lower mesh is different. Also, if you would like any other products we make (ie., shaker hood, front or rear spoiler), PM me and I'll give you a great combo deal. We need 6 participant to make this deal happen, they are in stock.
25% OFF Group Buy Pricing:
Open Mouth Grille only......................$239.25
Upper and Lower Mesh Kit..................$37.50
Matte Black Paint Job (grille only)........$60.00

The grille comes in black gel coat and would need painted, we offer a matte black paint job seen in pics 1,2,4,6 for $60 extra.

08-24-2008, 06:09 PM
So if I'm getting this right, both the grille insert and grille itself can be painted flat black for $60 extra apiece?
So, that would be:
Open Mouth Grille only-------------------------> $239.25
Upper and Lower Mesh Kit----------------------> $37.50
Matte Black Paint Job (grille only)---------------> $60.00
As above but for the mesh.................................$60.00
$396.75???

I don't paint the aluminum mesh, since it is more complicated, only the fiberglass parts. I'm sure you could get that done else where for a reasonable price if you want it black, check on powdercoating, I think is is not much. There are plenty places to get black mesh ready to go.

K, thanks...must really think about this. My girlfriend just saw it and doesn't like it. I told her to mind her own business, and said that I'm sure your Yaris looks much better than MY car right?!!!
She walked away, and said do whatever you want. Yes! Well, that could mean sleeping in the doghouse...next door!

Yeah but we all know that the dog house is only temporary, where the grille stays! I'd say it may be worth it

i might be in on this one. mo can you go over the install for us?
Sure, you will need to remove the facia to install the grille. There are several threads up with pics on how to do this, it's not too hard. Once the grille is unbolted, the center vertical bar (part of the rubber facia) needs to be removed with a hack saw blade. The new grille has 8 mounting points (4 on top and 4 on bottom) and becomes a very strong and rigid assembly once it is all bolted together. All 4 holes need to be drilled so the studs can be bolted down. All of these operations are behind the scenes and can only be seen or done with the grille out. If you would ever want to switch back to the original grille, that is no problem at all.

Hope to have mine in a few days. I'll probably pull the fascia and install it, but it will have to come back off, like the chin spoiler, and I plan on painting it Inferno Red to match the body color. The mesh will be painted Mineral Metallic Gray Clearcoat
I see that you painted your mesh black...that looks sweet! Do you plan to put any emblems on it....charger script, R/t, etc...
Mo...I'll give ya some 1600x1200 pics of it when I'm done. Would love to see them on your website!

Did you ever flip-flop on painting the grille circumference the same color as the vehicle?
I'm planning on painting mine Inferno Red, and then painting the mesh about the color of your vehicle.

All of that and the lower grill that Mo makes as well
Taking a bold track and going to have all the front parts including the deep dish stone white.
Then either use his mesh or some other mesh powder coated black.
Looking for the old cursive style charger emblem for the grill
Then old school 20 inch cragar mags or as close as I can get.

Nothing left to do now but wait.
Now some bad news, on the way to Florida for vacation yesterday we got rear ended by a bimbo in mommys Mercedes
So the car goes in the body shop next week for a new trunk, rear bumper, rear tail light and body work on the right rear fender.
I wonder how much the stealership would help me out since the car is going to be in the paint booth anyway.

Yes.
The vehicle goes in the shop on 10/13 for a huge transformation. It will receive a MoPower Shaker, MoPower '68 Grille, and MoPower Chin Spoiler along with Rally Stripes....about $2000 worth up upgrades and another $2000 worth of body work.
I'm painting the Grille Inferno Red to match the body and the mesh will be painted the same color as the stripes (Precision Grey Metallic). The chin spoiler will match the Inferno body color. The Shaker and trim ring will look like this:
http://www.teamodb.com/forum/uploads/1214538084/med_gallery_6_1_7627.jpg
I will create a new thread and post pics on a day to day basis as the project unfolds.....so stay tuned!
Hey guys, I'm seriously thinking about this mod. I have been talking to Mo. My SRT is brilliant Black. The only thing I am concerned with is the install of the mesh. I know the big center piece should be easy to do with bondo or that instant cement metal putty. The real question is how do you install the upper and lower pieces cause if they have to be cut for a perfect fit and placed on top that could be to precise for my taste. The center grill just folds over the inside correct? What did or are you going to do for this? I wish the grill came with the original plastic mesh. I think it will look good either metal or I can paint it black.
Comments?

OK here is the ifo I got from PayPal:
"Your package will be shipped by PayPal MultiOrder Shipping with U.S. Postal Service
Danko Productions used PayPal MultiOrder Shipping with U.S. Postal Service to create a shipping label for your package.
You can check the delivery status of your package online at:
http://trkcnfrm1.smi.usps.com/PTSInternetWeb/InterLabelInquiry.do?origTrackNum=9121150134711394 764906
Please note: Tracking information is updated throughout the day, but most data is transmitted in the afternoon or evening. For example, if your Express MailŪ package is mailed today at 10:00 a.m., you might not be able to view tracking information until the next day."
Now here is the funny part. this is what i get when I track it. Notice all the If availables.
"The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on October 7, 2008 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later. "
LOL well at least it is on its way. I do not need to know every step of the way.

I got a guy who is painting the grille & lip spoiler body color for around $180 - $200 I am going to get the mesh powder coated. I don't think I want to paint them myself.

Got mine in today, everything arrived in great shape.
Little rise on the lower grill, but I am guessing it will tighten down ok.
They say my crash damage is going to be done in 6 days. 5400.00 worth or rear end damage.
Then I will be looking to do my install.

Looking forward to seeing them installed. Have a great night!
Placed my order on friday. Now the waiting begins. I have swapped out the spoiler ( cleaner lines IMO ). After the new grill goes on I think the silver grill mesh and Stock wheels would look great with some rocker panel stripes like this. Opinion's?

When will the honeycomb inserts be available for these?
How much will they cost, I am thinking it would be nicer than the mesh though I have not seen pics of the insert?
Can the insert be added after the grill is installed?

I bought my honeycomb mesh from Mo and you will need the grille out to mount it. I have not done it yet but dustinc22 told me that they used a type of JB Weld to attach the mesh to the grille. I brought my grille and spoiler to paint and they are doing it for less than $100 for me. I am taking the mesh to be powder coated Monday. The Honeycomb mesh from Mo is a smaller pattern than the stock insert on the R/T.
Oh Yea, the upper and lower mesh kit was apx. $38.

Love the pattern, but it seems a little light. Mo knows his stuff and others have used it and it is fine.
Most likely it is just me, I get a bit paranoid when it comes to my car. And well my luck is not the best. So I could just see something bouncing up into that big old hole and taking out my radiator
I tried desperately to find abs honeycomb more like the OEM grill, but had 0 luck
Another plus is, that can be ordered powder coated as is, so there in no powder coating to deal with. Just trim and mount.

Since the stripes are painted on, and not vinyl, I wanted to leave them off of the grill so the widemouth glle could pop out more and make a statement.
The stripe color is Nissan "Precision Grey Mettalic" W40 color code, with 20% House of Kolors pearl mixed in. Pics just simply don't do it justice....you really need to see it under the sun.

I didn't want to wait so I think the lady felt bad for me plus, I have had stuff done there before.
Tomorrow afternoon. . . .install time.
Hey guys, My deep dish is at the post office and I'm gonna install it on saturday myself. I'm ok with the installation of the frame of the grill to the fascia, What I'm torn on is what to use with attaching mo's mesh to the dish frame. I have some epoxy for the upper and lower mesh because I think it just goes over the existing honeycomb But what about the large center piece? If it just folds over the inside should I use Bondo or some of that metal in a sausage that you cut and playdough it where you want it. This stuff would be a hell of a lot easier than bondo I think but will it adhere? Also I kind of want to be able to switch it to the honeycomb mo is working on when its ready. Who has installed thier own grill and what did you use?
Help please, I dont want to muck it up.

Installed today and we used JB Weld Kwik, it dries in 4 min. It works good but I screwed up and used some other epoxy that dried in 1 min and it ran onto the paint because I was trying to get the edge secure but the epoxy was more runny than the JB Weld so now my painter needs to sand it with some 3000 grit to fix it he said. Grrrr!! Man, I should have waited and not done it today on Halloween with limited time. All in all it looks good but the mesh from Mo makes it look like there is nothing there but a big hole so I will be getting different mesh. Moral of the story is... The worse you want it, the worse you get it.take your time. I'll post pics tomorrow, it is too late now & I am hitting the sack.
mo's mesh is bird cage material. J B weld is what I'm using for the main piece but yes I'm a little concerned with the time and effort I'm sticking in to this mod. I'ts going to look good but You really have to think about all the steps. So far my main concern with the whole mod has become the nightmare I knew it would be. Mo's Deep dish grill look's good but you really have to be carefull with how you "glue". Upper mesh for my instal required a dremmel just to make it visual!

I'm not sure if it is that the bolt in the middle didn't get tightened or that the grille is sticking out too far on the bottom. It is raining here so I am horizontal today but I will get a better look when the rain stops. I am glad that you have seen others like this because that means that I am not the only one.
