OK...I know that this is a little ways off ( :D ), but I'm going to need to make a rather large decision...and I need y'all's inputs.
I have the opportunity to have the show at the Newport News City Center in the Oyster Point area. The only problem is....MONEY. To have the show at the City Center, there will be a ton of fees, expenses, etc. To cover those expenses, I will definitely need sponsors...either a number of smaller sponsors, or a couple of larger sponsors.
Does anyone have an "in" with any companies that I can contact for possible sponsorships?
Finally, would it be worth the added expenses to move the show?
Thanks in advance for all your assistance.
Standing by to receive...

How packed was it at the church.. If there is room to do 1.5x the amount of cars you had at the church, I see no reason to up the scale yet..

Not knowing the area and only seeing pics of these past events, I cannot comment too much on this subject. But, it looked like the Church area had a nice car show feel to it. It looked like everyone was comfortable there too. I like nice open air car shows at nice places like a Church/Park/Restaurant/Etc. :driving:

I like the church but I wasn't there this year, it depends how crowded it was, enough room not to hit any cars with buckets I hope, lol. Either way I hope to be there Charger, Challey or Civic...

The more I get into the City Center application and see all the possible charges/fees, the more it's plain to see that I won't be able to afford to have the car show there.
However, I'm still looking for sponsors, so if you know of any business(es) who may be interested, please let me know.
Also, check out the Back to School Bash page on the HRME website. I have the different classes for next year's show listed...or rather the classes that I'm considering. Any input on these?

I have a meeting on Tuesday (1/13) with a potential host/sponsor for the show. As in host...I'm referring to a new location for the show.
I've also got a few proposals ready to go for a couple of other potential sponsors.
I'll let everyone know how it goes.

The show will be held at the new Quaker Steak & Lube that will be opening on May 13th at 12832 Jefferson Avenue in Newport News. The restaurant will have an automotive, NASCAR and motorcycle theme. They will host a bike nite every Wednesday through the summer, and a cruise-in on Sundays. I'm also working to set up a monthly HRME GTG as well.
So, the final sponsors for the event are:
Quaker Steak & Lube
Dyno Tuned Performance
Wicked Sisters Cafe
Hampton Roads Navy League
Hop's Place
Trophy World
Hooters
I'll post the event flyer soon!

I'll try to get you guys parked together. If you can get there together, or close to the same time, that will help.

Thank you both for coming out today. I apologize for not getting a chance to visit with you guys more today, but as you saw, I was a bit busy...and I had AWESOME help, too. It's just the nature of the beast.
I really do appreciate you guys coming out and supporting us today. I can't thank you enough.

Very glad to help out St. Judes. Thank you for putting on an awesome show. Also thanks to your wife, daughter, and other volunteers for making everything go really smooth. My first "real" car show with judging and all was a great experience for me. (Taking home some hardware didn't hurt).
There were lots of awesome cars, trucks, and bikes there today. I know the judging wasn't easy because they all looked so good.

Thank you, sir.
I'll have my pics posted soon. The manager of The Lube took me up on the roof and I got some awesome shots.

I'm glad that you were able to make it down...although the traffic did it's best to keep you away.
I wish that I would have had more time to visit with you and others...but the show kept me too busy. I'm going to make some changes to the judging next year, so hopefully I'll have more "free" time.

For those local, check out today's Daily Press (8/7). On page 12...I'm not sure what section...there is a picture taken at the show and a brief write-up about the show. I'm out-of-town right now, and I haven't seen it, but I've had some family and friends tell me about it and they're saving a copy for me.
