So over the weekend, I noticed that my door has a nice rattle to it when I kicked up the bass. I was skeptical of it being blown, but I can tell I don't have the same range of sound like I used to. I spoke with a friend of mine at Circuit City, and let me know that my Right Front Speaker is on its last leg. So I was thinking about replacing the entire setup and going with these:

I couldn't find a frequency/ output chart for the Boston Acoustics Sound Group II Speakers. If I did these speakers, would I need to get a better amp (I have the 322 watt).

Thanks

Polk is pretty good stuff... My personal opinion is if you mix factory stuff with non factory stuff... it doesnt sound as good. If you have a factory headunit... the door speaker is tuned specifically for that unit. I dont know how your 322 watt amp plays into the picture. If you already have changed the headunit and amp out.. the speakers will probably be a nice touch.

If you want to upgrade, go with the KICKER setup, they make an upgrade just for our R/T's..Just like the ones in the SRT

I would do that, I would just need to know what the package / speaker model is. I also gotta see what kind of discount I can get for the Kicker setup. I work at circuit city part time as well

There is several vendors on here that sell the upgrade, going aftermarket without changing the amps and head unit don't sound rught on our cars, the Kicker upgrade is awesome....you can get several different packages from just speakers, to the whole speakers replacement with 200watt 10"sub for the trunk......Ralph

I kinda figured it wouldn't be so easy. I take it you must have done the Kicker Upgrade?

I have the Kicker system that came with my SRT. I do not like it, not one single bit. I am on my second drivers side dash speaker, soon to be third. The U-Connect seems to destroy that speaker with frightening regularity.

Unless the Kicker upgrade system is much better than the one they put stock into the SRT's, my money would stay away.

I second that. I changed all my BA speakers to kicker speakers and the difference was amazing, then I put in the dual 10 subs in the back and I am truly happy :) For the $700 everything cost me It was a good deal. ( I got the subs from a member on these boards barely used )

Nice, but using the brand listed in my original post allows me to buy 2 door, 2 rear, and tweeters for less than what I would pay for cost of the pair. Gives me a little more playing room for a new deck.

How much are your polks that you are looking at? The front, front door and rear deck speakers cost me just over 300 at moparsupercenter.

Well I was going to go with the polk but they don't have the listing for those online with the discount I would get. I'm goin to either go with the Eclipse or Kicker. I'll get some specs on these later

Well I will tell you those eclipse are not cheap. Look on ebay for some phoenix gold rsd65. You should be able to get them for around 75-100. Do you plan on using a after market amp?

Price isn't really a factor as I work for Circuit City. I plan on getting an amp as well. There is a 322w in my car now though

I would suggest that you swap the left and right speakers to verify the faulty speaker if you haven't done so already. Sometimes a bad output stage in an amp will sound like a speaker going bad.
