Sirius Display

I have a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T with the R&T package with built in sirius. I want to know if there is a way to get the EVIC or the radio to display the name of the song and or artist.

The single disk REF radios don't display the Sirius info unlike the 6 disk RAK radios.

They are compatible and use the same harness.

The trade off is the RAK does not have the aux input jack while the REF radio does. If you have an IPOD or something like that you cant hook it directly to the RAK radio. You can use one of those cassette tape things w/ the cable that plugs into the ipod. I'm sure they can be purchased at Walmart.

The RAK and REF model is shown under the right tune dial in case your wondering what type you have.

you could always switch it out with one that does... i got a 6 disc on the lxforums for 250... that's half the price of a new one and it was in mint cond

install is just plug and play.... 10 minutes top to install

I just saw am 08 SE with a single disk that does display the Sirius info. They must have "redesigned" the radios for 08.

Might be able to snag one from someone who has upgraded to the 6 disk or get a 6 disk as others have mentioned.

mine does this too in my SRT... when i had my 5.7 2007 with single disc, it did not

Does anybody's radio do this? I have the RER and I thought I remembered from the first weekend I had the car thinking "Cool, it shows the artist and song title in the EVIC." I have since decided I wasn't remembering correctly as it doesn't do it any more and I don't remember changing anything & have been unable to make it do it again. It only shows the station number and name.

If this is your stereo, sorry but you won´t see any info.... the stereos with "dot display", can show you the name of the station/name of the song/whatever other info send by the local station,...

wanna OEM equipment??? maybe in ebay you can find a stereo with RDS (the system who can display the info) but, you wanna have this feature with the normal radio or sirius (satellite stations)???? ´cause I talked about the "normal" local stations...

The picture I posted, is not the inside of my car, but it is the stereo that I have. I don't have any display for either regular radio OR Sirius. I just have numerical display, such a CH 24 (which would be Sirius) or 101.5 (regular radio). I was hoping that maybe I would have some more display. I have to keep a paper list in my car to tell me which Sirius stations are which. Its rather annoying.

All Chrysler radios have a 3-letter designation, usually below the right hand knob . The radio that I have in my 06 SE is an REF. It doesn't display any Sirius info.

I think an RAQ radio will display Title/artist with the info button, it's a 6 disk, and I think it would fit the charger.

As others have said, it's a 10-20 minute swap-out, easy, if you go for it, don't hesitate to ask for help here.

I have the rec ,6 dics Nav system, it does display Sirius Information, songs title, artist,station etc, cd also shows the information as does the cd that are mp3 burned.
