OK i am installing door speakers and right now and in a few weeks the back speakers and i have 3 different set-up i am looking at, Keep in mind i am going to be running these speakers off my aftermarket Kenwood DDX-512 (22x4 rms) and NOT running them on an amp! Deck has built in crossover and i have Sub in trunk so all the Bass will be cut out of the speakers. Which ones are the best way to go?
Option 1: (cost $238.00)
Front Component: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8699438&type=product&id=1199494646675 ...... putting 6.5" in doors and tweets in dash!
Back 2-way: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8699429&type=product&id=1199494646605
Liking the component aspect but not wanting to run wiring from door to dash!
Option 2: (cost $220.00)
Front & Back 2-way: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8210955&type=product&id=1166234894507
Then adding 3.5" in the dash for even more highs all around!?!
Option 3: (cost $240.00)
Front & Back 6x9: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8704217&type=product&id=1199495218609
Cost's more and i don't think is the way to go, is my last choice at the moment!
I think the 6x9 would take to much power? If I'm doing straight highs and not bass isn't a 6x9" way to much? don't round speakers sound better for front highs?
Front door question: Should i get the component (Alpine) and have 6.5" in door and tweet in dash? or get 2 ways (Infinity) in doors and get some 3.5"s in the dash so there's more highs all the way around?
These are what ive boiled it down to and want to know your opinion on the 3 options that will give me the best all around sound for my application running of the deck.
THANKS So Much for all your help and input on my crossroad! :beerchug:

I'd go with option 3 just because of the 3way 6x9's.
I think those would give you great sound. I've never dealt with component sets so im not much help on that.

Add a poll to this. it will be easier to keep track of what everyone thinks.

I think the 6x9 is the way to go. Although, I think you would be better off picking something a little higher quality than those Alpines. Alpine makes good speakers, but those arent really from their high end line. Its up to you. But I am curious if something like this... http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kicker-KS-6-x-9-Coaxial-Speakers-08KS6930/sem/rpsm/oid/203197/catOid/-13092/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
is compatible with the Mopar amp upgrade? Anyone do this before? Would these kicker speaker be any better than the ones Mopar offers? Also, anyone know where I can get the wiring harness to convert to aftermarket speakers? I would prefer this over splicing and wire tape.
thanks guys

Ya but i didnt wanna go to high end cause of the power they require to sound good.
I am only going to be running all 4 speakers of the aftermarket Kenwood deck and dont want to get power hogs and my deck not be able to give me good sound.
And my thought of 6x9"s is that they take more power to run than a 6.5" and all i need them for the mids and highs seeing as i have a sub in trunk and there will be a corssover put on these speakers to block the bass from them.
I am really leaning right now towards options 2 and just going with a tried and true brand the Infinity Reference speakers all the way around and then at some point getting a nice infinity tweeter to go in the dash.
Any more thought or opinions on my options i have above?

I have decided to go all Infinity Reference in my car and am also wanting to put a set of 3.5" speakers in my dash (i just have the 4 speaker system SE).
I have heard Alot of 3.5" speakers dont fit in the dash due to space and dont fit correctly cause the dash cover hits the top of the tweeters and doesnt snap into place.... Is this true?
Here is what i am looking at getting will these work do you know: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10435_Infinity+Reference+3022CF.html
Thanks for the help on this!!! :bigthumb:

I've had those speaker in my Magnum for over a year and yes the dash doesn't sit perfectly flat like the oem speakers. It doesn't bother me and nobody riding in my car has ever noticed it, but it might bother some.

Are there any other 3.5" speakers that will fit in that location and not sit to high for the dash cover to lay flat and fit back perfectly?
