for my 2007 charger RT, it's a pain in the ass to input everything through the little nob turning and clicking, wonder why they didnt make one with touchscreen.... is anybody else thinking about the same thing ?

You don't want it. I work with touch screens every day and after you touch and touch and touch they start showing the wear. I like the one I have. Just my opinion though.

I have a touch screen the factory one its ok but I'd rather have the steering wheel mounted controls to me thats way better. As for it wearing out I dont see it but I could be wrong.

Touch screen, not for me thanks!! I like the screen of the old system because it stays clean. Nothing looks cheeper than messy fingerprints all over the touchscreens.
Having a touch screen and your a person that like a clean interior would drive me nuts. I would end up being a excessive compulsive cleaning the daym screen after every use. Takes a few extra seconds to use the non touch version. I'll take that over a smudged screen anyday.
And yes, every persons touch screen i ave seen is either blurry (from finger prints on finger prints) or showing dirty spots.
Now voice command, that woud be the way to go!

One of the many reasons I waited for the 08'. As far as finger prints, I leave a micro fibre cloth in the drivers door pocket. Every once and a while when I'm waiting in a drive thru or at a long light I give it a quick wipe.

To answer that question, I'm waiting for an adapter to get the MyGig working in older units, because I personally can't stand not having touch screen.

Do you mean you are waiting for one to come out, or you are waiting to receive yours?
If you are waiting for one to come out, there is this one:
MYGIG LOCKPICK v.2 ADAPTER (http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG_ADAPTER.htm)

It says this will work with a 2006 Dodge Charger...GOOD! But will this also integrate with my Factory Steering wheel controls, UConnect, and rear seat dvd player? All of which were factory installed......Which MyGig system should I go with? Certainly want to make sure the GPS is there, I know there is a model out there without it...

the RER is the unit with the nav I believe the REN is the one without the NAV. I'm pretty sure the steering controls will still work. Just ask the company when you buy the lock pick.

the 07 nav is ugly and worthless........very time consuming to enter destinations.........very ugly bland display........quite frankly, it looks like some big bulky 10yr old GPS pulled out of a army hummer.........chrysler went cheap with those
I too will incorporate the mygig in my 07 via the lockpik once confirmed they are shipping, and is tested by someone that verifies it works right...........I wrote the company a month ago and they said the product was still in R&D although listed on their site, and wouldnt be avail for a few more months

cool man I love the mygig my stepfather had on 06300c with the joystick nav and I hated the thing I'd rather have a tom tom. I hope you guys get this thing buttoned up you will love it. I just wish I had a lock pick that and a reverse camera and the Mic are probably one of my next mods.

My wife's 07 has the nav with that stupid knob and my 08 with the MyGig with the touch screen and is way better! You can pop in a destination in half the time with the touch screen. As far as finger prints - just don't eat french fries before you key something in.
I use the steering controls for the chanels, volume ect. It is much more user friendly than the non touch screen.

That Lockpick thing looks like exactly what I would want. From what I read it gives you everything I have now for full integration w/ EVIC, Sirius, NAV, Steering wheel controls, uconnect, and rear DVD (w/ the minor exception being the clock won't display correctly it seems- annoying but not a deal breaker- oh and the fact that I'd have an extra uconnect button on the mirror and that it can't use that mic (which sux anyway) ).
The drawbacks are mainly cost- looks like I'd have to by a MyGig system - is it the RER w/ Nav & Sirius? which appears to be around $800 and up, then the Lockpick and adaptor, putting me well over a grand. Plus the install looks pretty much out of my league, so a few hundred more for that...
Maybe someday! In the meantime I need to see someone go start to finish on this upgrade w/ a 2006 and document it well the whole way so I can just duplicate the guinea pig...

Entering info without touch screen is obnoxious. Used to have a car like that and hated it. Touch screens do get a bit messy but if it bothers you just do what someone else said and carry a microfiber in the glove box.

I had NAV on my RX-8 and it had the same kinda joystick thing BUT at least this one was the enter button also, all you had to do was push it in. I didn't find it very annoying to have to use the joystick VS a touchscreen, just me though.

Non-Touch Screen is a pain in the.... I was used to my other car, touch screen can indeed get dirty, but if you have OCD... you will constantly keep it clean.
