need help with audio system!!!

ok so here is my problem hope you guys can help... im still in high school and of course after i got my car i wanted people to hear me coming, so i went on ebay and bought some cheap subs and an amp.. i knew pretty much nothing about car audio so im stuck with 2 12" sony explodes in my trunk but i want some real thunder.... i have no idea what to do or what to use.. any help will be much apreciated thanks!

If you want some thunder, get some 12 Inch MTX THUNDER 7500s and a Thunder Elite AMP... had 2 in my trunk and it was LOUD!!!! in fact too loud so I took one out and keep the other.

you can go the inexpensive way and get Kicker subs. Lots of bass for a little price, people will hear you coming with those.

I am a fan of JL subs though. If you have the money go with JL.

ha thanks guys and my price range is pretty much under $1000 i just dont kno which subs are the best.. ive been hearing that kicker l7s are pretty good but then again i kno absolutly nothing about amps.. u guys care to explain what the amp does? and what the benefits of wiring it different was are? thanks alot for the help alos guys!!! and thanks for the mtx thunder suggestion im looking into that right away! thanks!

x2 on Crutchfield. They may not be the cheapest but they are pure experts when it comes to car audio/video installation. You get what you pay for...in this case it's good :banana:

actually yes i am, i dont know which setup to go with, i want the most boom tht i can get.. have any ideas? i arreddy have a ported box in my trunk so i kno they will fit and anychance i can fit 15s? or is tht too much?

what kind of music do you listen to? Do you want tight responsive bass or a little bit boomier base?

You can fit 15s it just depends on the box, shyt, you could fit 18s in our trunks

then i would go with a ported or vented box. Yeah you can tottally do 18s. Lemme find them.

you can try some Fi subs or Ascendant Audio subs. They come in 18's and are LOUD!!!
you can rock 1 of those and be heard around the block

what sub are you going to get? 2 18's might be hard to fit since they need lots of air space. i was thinking you wanted 1 18.

yeah I would do only 1 18, if you want to do two subs go with 15s. How much of your trunk are you willing to give up?

ok well lets see im willing to give up my whole trunk.. i do have a backseat lol but what do u think will hit harder i 18" or 2 15"s??
