BPS No More?

I heard a rumor today that there is new management at BPS, and that (after tonight) there won't be any more weekly GTGs there.

Has anyone else heard this? Can anyone verify this?

From what was said, between 11-12, after it dies down, the honda civics (SB, I know it's you and your boys) show up and start leaving trash and **** and there was a fight a few weeks back or something.. But it has been said this is the last weekend they're doing it..

I don't know about BPS but I know we were run out of Home Depot by the local LEOs about a month ago. They said that the Home Depot was posting "No Trespassing" signs. The LEOs stated that if they saw us there after that weekend they would give us trespassing violations. I haven't heard anything about BPS. It would be a real shame since that is the major weekend happening, I stopped at Jenro's last night at about a little after 8, bout 10 vehilces left at that time. I left at 9:10 and there were 4, me being one of them.

Here is the word I got today. It doesn't get much more "official" than this:

We have shut down the cruise in at Bass Pro Shops. This was not an easy decision for BPS to make.

Will do. I think I know where it's going, but I want to find out for sure before I put out something that may not be correct. I'd hate for people to show up somewhere looking for the cruise-in and it not be there.

I haven't heard anything yet about a new location.

As far as why it was cancelled, a friend of mine is close to the decision-makers for BPS and he tells me that the main problem was not with ricers, but rather with a group of people who drive Chargers...the new ones. :errf:

My friend didn't have specific names of people involved...but I wish he did. I'd love to know who they were. BPS has been going on for quite some time now...and is one of the best known cruise-ins in the area, and to have a few yahoos ruin it for everyone really sucks. I'd LOVE to find out who it was and take away their Charger driving priviledge. :D

The group of chargers that you are talking about would definitely have to be this group called Changin' Lanez or some other kind of ebonics.. They are a group of younger guys.. All their cars (they also have magnums) look about the same.. 22" rims, lambo doors, chrome stick-on vents.. I knew the first time they were there that they would end up becoming trouble.. A no good group of miscreants but hey.. Some ruin it for all I guess..

Like I said...I have no idea who the group was. It's been so long since I went to BPS, I don't know anything about the group you've mentioned. I just hope that whoever it was doesn't give all of us new Charger owners around here a bad reputation.

Yup, that's the group.. Project invited them out to Bass Pro that night and that's where it all began.. They did two burnouts that night so I can only imagine that it got worse as the weeks progressed.. If it is not them and I offend anyone, I'm sorry..

i was chatting with another fellow on another forum and he told me there was a place in Portsmouth where everyone hangs out. the guy i talked to is on a G8 forum and they would like to get a good comparisson of the compitition.

"By P-town I mean in Portsmouth. They got permisson to use a lot in the the Churchland/Western Branch area. It is at the corner of Rt 17 and Tyre Neck Road. I can get you better directions if you want it. I would say there was 30+ car out there about 2 weeks ago when I went. I also work in NN."
