All,
For those who don't know, the Newtown Center in Williamsburg is currently hosting Cruise-Ins every Saturday night in July, and they are considering continuing the Cruise-Ins through September.
For each of the Cruise-Ins, a different car club "sponsors" the event and is responsible of all the logistics...music, parking, raffles, etc....and basically running the Cruise-In. The businesses in the Newtown Center have food for sale (and I believe that one restaurant even brown-bags the orders and brings them out to the cars), put in items for the raffle, etc., and the James City County Police Department is there to help keep things under control. The Cruise-Ins normally last from 5:00 p.m. until 9 or 10 p.m. In return for "sponsoring" the Cruise-In, the club gets a portion of the proceeds raised.
I am considering sponsoring a Cruise-In sometime in August or September...but I will need help. I'll take car of the logistics and planning. What I will need help with is parking, raffle ticket sales, and basically running the event. Would anyone be interested in helping out? If so, please vote "YES" - and only do so if you are a definite yes...regardless of the date. I really can't have people say yes and then back out because they changed their mind. I realize that people may have work schedule issues that they won't know about until later...and emergency issues do tend to arise when you least expect (or need) them. That's OK. I'm talking about the "Well, I'm not sure...so I'll say yes now and then later I can change my mind if I want to."
Everyone has been asking about my next event...well, other than the car show, here it is.
I'm going to contact the person in charge of all this and ask for more info, and I am planning on going up to the Cruise-In this weekend.
If anyone has any questions, comments, etc., let me know.
