Order number: 1910; Dodge Charger Interior LED Conversion

Front/Map LED's: No issues - look awsome!

Rear/Side Handle LED's: When I installed the 194 (T-10) LED's, I noticed something quite odd with them. When the door is opened, they light up just fine (so they are on the right side), but when the door is closed (after the all lights off time out), the push button does not work, and LED's only barely glow.
I pulled out my Volt meter and tested the following.
LED's
Push Button Off: 5v DC uhhh.... (dull glow)
Push Button On: 5.5v DC (dull glow)
Door Open: 12.5v DC (BRIGHT AND ON)

I put back in the factory default bulbs and ran the volt meter again
Push Button Off: 0v DC (off)
Push Button On: 12.5v DC (Bright)
Door Open: 12.5v DC (Bright)

I put the LED in "backwards" and got 0v across the 3 tests, flipped it over and got the same results from the first volt test: 5v, 5.5v and 12v and with the LED's only really on when a door is opened.

so whats going on?

Update: I just went out to test my map light.. and they too are now only 1/10 lighting up when I click them on. They come on full charge with the door open - but any other time.. they just come on with that dull white... :(

I noticed a similar problem on mine. The front map lights were so dim, I figured I'll just stick with stock, but then they lit up full. I noticed it when I had the door open for several mins, the brightness dropped, but when only open for a "normal" amount of time, they were bright. Now, they seem to work fine, and look great.

Do you have the car turned to accessory so its getting power? If not, with all LEDs when you try pushing them on with the car off, they will hardly glow

Ok, key ignition is the issue. When the key is in the ignition slot, turned to either the AC or ON positions the LEDs work fine. Only when there is no key, or it is in the OFF position that the LED's don't work (dim glow).

Which is strange, as the factory bulbs work in any ignition position, key or no key.

So what would cause the LED's not to work when the ignition is at off, yet the factory bulbs to still work? as Chargeron24s post indicates (as truth :) )

I also have a question, I tried installing my led 3 chip set into my 07 and it doesn't appear to fit without me forcing it in or bending some of the pieces. The green chip itself is bigger than the width of the two metal clamps> Am I doing something wrong?

Also does anyone know the best way to remove those plastic covers from the rear light so that I don't break them?
