I'm seriously looking into purchasing an SRT-8 and will probably be doing some stuff to it. Any one know of some good shops up here? I'm in north Dallas.
Thanks,
Yan

Might have to send to Houston, I would call Nick at Fastlane of TNT Viper fame. Best work at the best prices. $2000 for Kooks headers installed(full)another shop Quoted $3500 and the other was $2800. Nick is by far the best tuner for DC vehicles.
Contact info:
Fastlane
5410 Burr Oak Drive
Houston, TX 77092

Call him up with some questions or to order parts, just tell him I gave you the number;)

That wouldn't be Nick Fields that formerly owned Street Performance, would it?

I haven't seen him in years... but he definately knows his stuff, and like you already posted, very reasonable on his prices. He used to work mainly on mustangs, then I heard that he had gone to work somewhere that only worked on vipers, that's why I figured it was him. He's a very nice guy! I am glad you posted his info, I'm going to have to get by there to see him.

I have been getting work done on my SRT8 at Keith Craft Motor Sports on the southbound 75 frontage road just north of 15th street in Plano. These are some serious old school muscle car guys and I have been happy with the work. They are partnered with Keith Craft in Arkansas where there is a very nice machine shop, so I am going to see if they will do some head and intake work for me. Their number is: 972-578-3550. I usually talk to Michael Turner.

Just talked to Nick and he charges $75 for 3 dyno pulls, he is going to do a baseline run before the Kooks headers go on so we will know what was gained from the headers

Good deal. I know we've got a little bit of a wait, but I'm curious to see the results.

Finally got my csrt8. I would like to eventually do full exhaust and p&p heads (GSM). Plus hopefully superchips or someone will eventually come out with a tune for those things, and I would probably do that as well. Would anyone consider just going back to the dealership for all of that?

I picked up my (black) CSRT8 up in December. Since then, I have had Keith Craft do dyno run, install zoomers, and install K&N CAI. Right now they are working with their machine shop on a SRT8 P&P for me, so I will let you know how it turns out. TraitorS4, you the guy that parks at Collins&75? If so I have a picture of our cars together. :)

Very good to know. I'll be starting a new job in July. So, I should be able to afford a few toys then. I'll keep Keith's name in mind. I'm very interested in the P&P they do for you. Keep me informed about that. I may have some more questions for you about that once you have some results.
I don't think that was me you were talking about. Was this the car you saw?

BTW, Hacker where are you at? I live off of Northstar and Renner in Richardson.
EDIT: I found the website for Keith Craft Motorsports (http://www.keithcraftmotorsports.com/). They look good. Is this where you go for regular maintanence?

The SRT8 I saw was black. I have yet to see a red one up close, so I look forward to seeing yours. That is the right link for the shop I use for all the non-warranty/modification work I have done on my car. I like those guys, you can stop by and check them out, ask them questions. I live in the City of Parker just south of Allen, but I work downtown.

What was the price on the CAI + install? I only have an SXT, but any little bit helps.

I have not had any work done there myself but they have a good reputation. I have known a guy with a vette that had work done there.

I see your in Richardson. I work there (by UTD) so maybe our SRTs will cross paths !

You might also want to check out HPP Racing in Carrollton. They're near 121 and 35. They are a serious "go fast place" that specializes in turbos and custom tunes (mostly for Mustangs and Vettes, but that's everybody right now). They charge $50 for 3 pulls. They did my CAI and cat back and did dyno's between each- pretty good guys. Their number is 972-395-9844.
